  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

I dunno about that, Jason. I'm a Scarlet Dragon owner, and I ordered as soon as it was available, Day One for S-W, and I have not heard a peep from RED. Which, for me is fine. I don't want mine until Summer.

To clarify, he did mention that it's not that you would jump immediately above all the other orders, it's just that S-D owners get bumped up a bit VS other orders. They aren't done allocating all the RAVEN > S-W switches, so I'm assuming you will get yours right after those are done, unless you get to jump even those orders due to being a S-D owner. What I know for sure is that you can be allocated at least a few weeks earlier than other people. Ex, my timestamp was Dec 7th, another S-D owner's timestamp here was Dec 9th, and he was allocated 2 weeks ago, whereas I still haven't been allocated.

Yeah, things seem like they've been all over the place, but with dealers I'm sure it's hard to nail down why some people get theirs sooner.

I've got my fingers crossed for an allocation this week.

Ok..If you switched from Raven to Scarlet-W (till the end of next week) and had your RAVEN order in after the Scarlet-W announcement, you are looking at a before NAB ship date.

So im a Raven order customer that switched to Scarlet- W straight away. Should i be concerned if Iv'e not been re -notified by now. I say re-notified because I was notified- paid in full and then un-notified. I have no idea whats going on and my rep doesnt seem any the wiser either. If Im confused I can only dread to think what you guys are having to contend with trying to get cameras in peoples hands with so many new product releases coming out at once. I don't envy any the guys that are tasked with keeping the inpatient masses happy at RED HQ. But If anyone wants to step in and spread some clarity on my order it may well save me a logistical nitemare that im facing in trying to prep for a job which I had expected 2 cams on and now im a cam down. Any one ? Brent@RED?

Hey Jarred or somebody else, any (semi-)official news on the allocations of the Red Scarlet W in Europe? When I ordered my contact from Red assured me I would have the camera by June (and he said he would be very ashamed if that wouldn't be the case :D ). I understand if you can't answer this question, but that doesn't mean I can't try to ask it.

Thanks in advance!

guys one thing i know for sure is. The guys at RED REALLY want you to get your cameras. Not only because they get to bill you!!! but they seem to HONESTLY care about people who share their passion for film making. When I ordered an epic with my Buddy we had no idea what we were doing. Coming from mainly cannon cameras (XL 1, XL 2, MIII) we had an opportunity to work on a low budget feature film and we took the leap. We made our order hoping it would be there in time, we messaged our rep, almost daily (thinking back I'm sure he wanted to kill us) But he was so cool. He kept telling us all he could, but in his voice i could hear that everything would be ok. And it was. The shipment came from red the very day BEFORE production started..
we made it through a 27 day shoot with 2 128 GB Red mags and like 8 redvolts and a sidehandle lol.. anyhow long story short don't think for a minute that the dudes at red dont feel your passion, cuz they do. They really want the tools they create to get into the hands of the user and see what comes back. One thing maybe the main thing to remember is they are offering a VERY WIDE variety of packages and camera options this year. NAB JUST finished, and I think they will get the cameras out as soon as possible.

Well said!

Nice Ashton! Looks like you got everything separately?

Just got almost all my accessories! Hopefully the brain and the rest wont be far behind  Thanks everyone at RED, you guys are killing it!

Nice! I did the same because I wanted the 7" monitor. When did you order?

Got my Raven I/O package allocated! Ordered 10 minutes after announced..

Congrats! Is that one of the first Raven's going out? I wonder if that means they are skipping the remaining orders for RAVEN to S-W switchers to ship out some Ravens due to the complaints?

Ok, since a few people already PM'ed me, I will be proactive on here....

When you get your notification, we will hold your allocation for 10 days for you to finalize payment, accessories, and other delivery details. If you extend beyond that, it DOES NOT mean your order is cancelled or you go to the back of the line. It just means we won't hold that specifically-allocated camera until you are ready to take delivery. When you are ready, you will get the next non-allocated one off the line.

Obviously, if we had hundreds of allocated cameras just sitting on the shelves, they are not in your hands. And it would not be a very effective business model to "hurry up and wait". So, it does nobody any good.

All this means is if you extend beyond that window, you get a camera allocated to you from the next batch once your details are sorted. Period.

Hope that clears it up.

Huh? Does anyone here actually think we would screw one set of customers for another set due to "complaining"? Uhm, nope. We have thicker skin that that.

As promised, all people who ordered RAVEN before the SCARLET-W announcement who then switched to SCARLET-W have been notified. Box checked.

I've been allocated. Raven Base I/O Package. Time stamp: 9/24/15 21:43. Paid in full. I have cookies and milk for the FedEx driver!
