  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

Hey Brent - we all appreciate the extra time you guys put in by keeping us up to date here on RU... :cheers2:

It's just that us - "pure Raven's" - are frustrated with the lack of specific info when compared to Scarlet-W and - I guess more importantly - Raven to Scarlet-W switches. We have seen Scarlets allocated daily without seeing any Ravens going out at all. Note the key part is us "seeing". We are sure things are happening behind the scenes - but that doesn't help with our frustration. I guess what we would like to hear is a "specific" info about the actual Raven orders. Something like all orders from 24/25 will be allocated by XX/YY. You know how many orders were placed and how many switched to S-W. You also know your (hopefully ever-increasing) production capacity. I have personally not switched to S-W as we actually need the Raven for aerials and we are getting Weapon for the "normal" work. Also knowing that accessories can (and usually do) delay allocations - I have ordered brain only, literally only few hours after the launch with early AM stamp on the 25th. If you could give us a worst case scenario for the brains only (and hopefully packages too - but we know that is harder) - that would be an emmense help. Not knowing is the worse. I went through same thing with the org Scarlet by ordering the Titanium EF mount and having to wait for months watching peeps who ordered after me getting theirs left and right - all the while not having any clue as to when mine would be allocated. I hope you can understand this...

OK, now that cameras are shipping, how long till the pocket Red Budgy comes out Jarred? :smile5:

Chad, I pinged your rep to make sure you timestamp is all squared away.

It must have worked, they called yesterday with my allocation! Somehow in switching from the Raven to S-w order it didn't have my Scarlet Dragon owner discount applied, which was quickly taken care of, but not sure if that added any additional wait time.

Yes this is the Shoot 35 follow focus and I love it. It's really the best follow focus for the price in my opinion. As for the mattebox it's a classic OBox. No issue shooting wide in 5k for me.

Yup, this is the Package. I'd say each step from allocation, (depending on how quick you pay and process your order after), and shipping to receiving it are all within two day intervals. The wait is definitely worth it. You'll love it!

I was allocated 4-12-16, Immediately reached out to my Bomb Squad rep and left message and e-mailed. Didn't hear back until I called the office and requested the general sales line. I told him I wanted to pay in full to expedite the shipping process. I told him I would even go pick it up in person. Heard back yesterday that it's not ready and he doesn't know when it will be ready.

Kinda bummed that allocation doesn't mean it's truly ready to be shipped out.

Scott, like Eddie's post way back on restaurant analogy...

"Allocated" does not mean - it is on the shelf waiting for you. It means that, based on our production schedule, we expect one to be ready for you by the time you pay up, we can begin processing. Should be 2-3 business days once you are allocated and paid in full. But, meaning we blasted people does not mean every can take delivery right away. Some have to sort finances. Once they are settled, then they can get back in queue. So, there are going to be peaks and valleys in processing time. Just the way it is... By having this forum, it exposes those peaks and valleys that would normally never be seen with a "normal" company - and ignorance would be bliss.

Thanks Brent - didn't mean to sound like a spoiled brat just anxious to get my camera thats all =) Thanks for all your help and commentary along the way.

I would feel the same exact way as you, Scott.

Peter, I appreciate the RAVEN folk looking for more details. The info we have already provided is the info we have. See my replies to jordan in this thread :)

Remember, we have been shipping SCARLET-W a month longer, so as the production lines mature, easier to have a line of sight and provide updates. Once we have the same for RAVEN, we will let you guys know.

Perhaps RAVEN should have been announced after Scarlet W. I think part of what is causing the anxiety from alot of us is the fact that RAVEN was announce way earlier than Scarlet but production (seems) is the exact reverse. We appreciate all the info BTW. Thanks

Remember we made a whole new Raven sensor half way through pre-production. 4.5k instead of 4k. Remember, when we announced Raven in September, we said it was shipping in Feb. The sensor pushed it forward a month to march, just like we said it would, and we didn't miss that date.

I understand the anxiety, but I hope nobody thinks we trick-fucked anyone here.

Hey Brent, I just noticed on the original post that Jarred said the 7" LCD Alu was going to be caught up by the end of March. However, I've had one on order as a replacement for a unrepairable 5" LCD since late March and the last word that I've gotten was that it would be at least the first week of May before it ships. Was the 3/30 in his post supposed to be 4/30? While I can operate my Weapon with the sidekick, it sure is harder than with the LCD.

There's a lot of complaints here, and im probably looking at another month
but i just want to say
Thank You.

Yeah...thanks for that, I never for once taught about that piece in the whole equation. Now, that puts everything into correct perspective. Thanks and BTW, it seems Brent succeeded in locking out your keyboard against any NAB leaks :), 2 more days....

Matthew, please see my earlier post that explains accessory ETAs.

RED.com estimates that current orders will all ship within next 7-10 business days. So, you should be sorted by then, but feel free to ping your RMA rep and cc me.

Bahaha, remember, SCARLET-W was supposed to be an NAB launch!!!

Ok, folks, have to do yard work and spend some time with the boys before Kelly and I pack up for Vegas. See a lot of you Monday!

Nobody is saying that Jarred. We are just looking for some specific info regarding the actual Ravens. Good example was your April update where you have touched on everything else except the actual Ravens. Pretty much all the info and updates are for everything else but Ravens. Last thing we have heard from Brent was that there was to be major up in production last Monday. All we are looking for is date for worst case scenario related to the orders placed in the first 24 hrs. Once these are allocated and begin to ship - everyone will calm down. We appreciate that things are happening behind the scenes and that you are obviously delivering Ravens to folks who aren't here on RU, but all we have seen here in the Raven thread are two brain allocations with one delivery. And that was a while ago. Folks who ordered minutes later are hearing only crickets - and that is the worst part for us - not knowing even a hint at allocation dates for the first 24 hrs orders. You must have some idea knowing your production capacity and the number of orders remaining from the first 24 hrs once you take out switchers and those lucky ones who have theirs. Let's say you can make 20 a day and there are 1000 orders left in the first 24 hrs group. So we know at the worst we are looking at 50 days. I would rather know that then knowing nothing. And as the production is ramping up and things will speed up - we would be only happy to get them earlier. So all we are asking for is the worst case for the first group (24 hrs or 24/25 dates - which ever is easier for you) given your current production capacity...

We don't.... if we did, we would tell you. Again.. you are suggesting that we are trying to hide info from you or keep you guys in the dark, which is simply not true. I would expect you would know that about us by now...

Jarred - again nobody said anything about hiding. I guess what we are asking is that if you don't know - could you please see if there is any (least) painless way to find out. To be perfectly honest - given how you have worked hard over the years to address this exact issue (being able to keep track of orders in relation to production capacity) and how far you have come from the early days - I am surprised that you don't know. Again - please put yourself in our shoes and see this in the light that you do have pretty good idea about everything else, even giving out specific dates on the backlogged accessories. Please don't misread or misinterpret our frustration. Nobody - certainly not me - is accusing you of anything. We are just politely asking for a similar level of info available for everything else...

Peter. You make it sound like we are making chocolate covered mushrooms. There isn't a single day that we make the same amount of cameras as we did the day before. That's just how it works. Our cameras are incredibly complicated pieces of electronics that go through days of testing and Quality Control. And specially when production first begins and all sorts of manufacturing kinks are being worked out every hour, the fluctuations are too great to give you guys exact dates. At a certain point, we get an average that is pretty dependable, and we share that with you along the way as soon as we know.
