  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

Holy cow, Brent, you have the patience of an ox. I did customer service for a long time, and vowed never again. Thanks for the quick responses and feedback. Very excited to get the Raven in my hands.
 
Derek, if you (or anyone) is at NAB, don't thank me, thank my wife, Kelly. There are a lot of unsung significant others who put up with us nutjobs who clock out late, go home...then get on REDuser.... I know I speak for Jarred and Jim as well when I say our wives are freaking saints...
 
Brent, we understand all the hours you guys at red put in everyday. This would definitely take over your so social life and family life. At the end of the day we have had to wait a couple months to be allocated. Who cares. Red have given us some incredible tools to make your next project with. I am new to red never have bought one before this is my first time. I think the communication to people is exceptional. Iv bought from canon, blackmagic and Sony. They give no communication at all or have interest in their customer needs. I saw that people had been asking and complaining to add 50fps 5k onto the scarletw at the start. Jarred piped up one day and said we have added it for you! Which other company in the world would do that. I will continue to buy from red in the future. Like I said big up to everyone at red continue to make your incredible products for us.

Yes, where would we be without our wives? I know I'd be broke and living with my parents without her telling me to stop buying crap I don't really need (outside of Red stuff). I'll be at NAB and would love to meet you guys.

Nice! Although when I thought you were one behind me, I also thought you were still a Raven package. Well, guess I'm definitely not getting allocated this week, haha. Oh well.

I'm at the point where my timestamp is getting close enough to the latest allocation updates (Dec 13) to raise the anticipation... but also I have so much stuff planned for NAB that it should keep my mind off of it until the end of the week. ;)

Well this is a general "shipping update" thread, which applies to both Raven and Scarlet-W. So I think this thread works fine!

Hoping to see who else gets allocated today and how much closer they get to Dec 10...

Just got my Zeiss 15mm today and wanting to try it out on the Scarlet for sure since I'm finally making the transition to Super-35 land. I fear that it's likely that my last few weeks of school will interfere with my ability to just play with my camera all day when it comes... but what am I kidding, I'll probably just skip those finals to play with the cam!

I am actually doubled-down since I work with my wife. Her 11th NAB coming up, my 9th. Where did the time go?
 
Scarlet Dragon owner here. Ordered a Raven on Dec. 1st, switched it to Scarlet-w on Dec. 14th. Any idea where that puts me in the cue?
 
Is there a sizable difference in the number of "Raven to Scarlet-W" switchers and straight Scarlet-W orders? I ask in part because of the "ORDERS PLACED TODAY EXPECT TO BE SHIPPED IN FALL 2016" tag on Scarlet-W at Red.com.

It seems like excellent progress has been made with Scarlet-W's being allocated. I've seen November timestamps getting notices, which is terrific. Just want to get a sense for whether the number of Scarlet-W orders that will start with December timestamps far outnumber however many Raven switchers there were up to that point. Is that a much bigger "mountain" to summit than the Raven switchers?

I'm obviously pulling this out of my ass, but I have to imagine that Raven-switcher's timestamps were mostly close to the Raven announcement date, then they get smaller in number up to the Dec 10 announcement of the Scarlet-W. Then, you'd have a huge influx of Scarlet-W orders from Dec 10th (or that week) which gets smaller as the months go on. Keep in mind that at this point, there are 4 months of Scarlet-W preorders they need to fulfill. I think that's why they are giving new orders a heads up that their order might not ship until fall.

Like you said, there is probably a "mountain" of orders that they haven't reached yet, since I don't think they have allocated any units from Dec 10th.
 
Josh, pretty fair answer. I will go back to my iceberg analogy. Switchers the tip. Pure SCARLET-W orders, under the water line.

Brent, a Scarlet-D owner special package Scarlet-W order put today is still fall 2016? With that priority allocation deal I mean
