  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

APRIL Backorder Update

Not cancelled at all.. Getting the "basics" out of backorder was priority #1 for the last couple months. Come to NAB to see the pre production PRO I/O's in all it's working glory.... and they should start shipping sometime in the next 2 months.

Hi Jarred,
Any eta for pre-ordering the PRo I/O module. Why I'm in a hurry ? Because we are going to close our expense in one month for the next 6 months.
And I'd really want to include this items in my last demand.

Seriously, the RED Team makes a very good job!!! Which manufacturer tell us so much about his future projects and is so close at its customers...

Jarred,

You and the whole team must be dancing on air right about now.

Many of us know how personally you take all of the logistics - especially when things slip and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

As the 90% moves to 100%, I hope you are able to take a day somewhere in there to pause, reflect and plan a well deserved vacation.

Why? Well, to recharge your batteries of course - those RED users are a needy bunch anyhow.

Congrats and thanks to everyone involved!

Edit: I did say plan, not necessarily take!:cheers2:

Awesome! That body cap could be a handy little item.

Any status on the Quad Charger? I just got a giant RED battery today that does nothing if I can't charge it. I actually didn't think about it when I ordered, that the only way to charge this sucker is with the Quad Charger. So, when traveling, I guess we need to bring it or leave the big batts home.

Speaking of batteries, we have a couple big boxes of the RED AA batteries. I love that they come in 4 packs, but wish they didn't have plastic over them. Not sure that is something you can control, but it sure is a pain when in a rush to have also undo that tight plastic after you take them out of the box.

Thanks for the update, btw. I don't want to forget to show appreciation for information. It is ALWAYS welcome, even if it is bad news. In this case, it's mostly good news.

Kevin

+1 on this. Whats up Cid!

What? That is the best picture of the remote. Is this for real?

Do you need an AF on the lens or can you direct me to a link to find out more about this.

Thanks

It will work with Electronic Lenses like the Canon-lenses.

I didn't say it would only work with electronic lenses, but that was what I knew 'for sure'.

Will red ever make an alum PL mount?

I seem to recall a bit of discussion about this where Jarred said that the extra weight of most PL lenses called for the stiffer, strong Ti mount. Also, if you are going to spend big buck for PL lenses, it seems the cost difference for the mounts is hardly a deal killer.

What Terry said.

Plus, ALLSTAR makes a Stainless Steel PL mount so it would seem that there is an option out there for the Ti PL mount. I think RED looks at the whole picture and as long as there are adequate third party suppliers of a need, do not feel they have to fill that space in order for their customers to have options. The Nikon mount, although adequately covered by Optitek, does not address the G lens electronics properly so RED (hopefully) continues to work toward production of that to go along with their electronic Canon solution. All-in-all, they've done a good job IMO of enabling the use of their cameras in a workable way until they can eventually provide what is needed to make them work optimally.

That was the original plan but they went with Ti, so I'd guess NO.

Why do you want Al anyway, price?

Will red ever make an alum PL mount?

We need info on Quad Charger please!
