  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

And somebody has to pay for that and it ain't Apple(share-holders) or US residents.
It's a good thing Dietmar Hopp isn't selling CureVac to Trump and his friends(for US exclusive rights on corona related vaccines, how f*cking low can you go).
Hopp is loaded enough and wants a worldwide vaccine for everybody (incl. the have not's).

No not a commie plot. The US dollar has gathered strength in the last month and has increased 10.63% over the Australian dollar and has strengthened against the Canadian and many other currencies. These price increases more than likely reflect these changes. The shift of dollars heading back into the US is affecting the value of the US Dollar. This will make it tougher for all US exporters including Red as their prices have also increased by 10.63% for me this month but in the USA you should be able to buy an Alexa cheaper. Glad I bought a Tesla last month:smiley:

So they contribute 10 million ventilator masks to charity and send the bill to customers outside the US, I don't see charity in that.

Dietmar Hopp Chairman of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietmar_Hopp invested already $1.500.000.000 of his own money in medical research mainly focussed on the develement of vaccines for diseases that hit the "have not's" the hardest. An other thing Hopp did well is not telling the media about this, only when Trump tried to buy his company, Merkel stood up and kind of forced Hopp to share with the media what he is doing with his medical company's, i.o.w. charity without braging about it.

For me it's not who has the most gives the most, it's more about giving something and send the bill to others and call it charity.

Why do you feel Apple, or anyone, should not periodically adjust their pricing to account for massive weakening of foreign currencies?

They did,

All other big tech company, AMD, Intel, NVidia, Samsung, etc.. are adjusting their prices at the moment, they lower them.
Apple, aka E-corp is the only one increasing their prices.

If you have any actual evidence that a price increase on computers is related to the donation of medical supplies, I’d love to see it.

I’m not sure why you’re so upset. It’s not like you’re buying Macs.

There's no evidence to suggest a link between the two, but even so, do you think the virus cares about borders? This is why scientists condemn the idea about closing borders since it hasn't stopped previous outbreaks in the world. Even if it were true that the donation of masks are funded by customers including those outside of US, helping US handle COVID-19 is in everyone's interest globally. So if an increase in price enables help measures to stop the pandemic without any other effort than just paying for a new MacBook, I think that's a very luxurious way of helping to stop this global pandemic.
