  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

"Apple Cage"

I bought one a couple weeks back.. Surprisingly good quality. Bought it mostly for the ribs and bottom plate. Mixes well with my Wooden Camera and RED stuff.

Petri, I tried to comment on your article, but could not log in. Some module error. (Blogs shouldn't really require a log-in, otherwise you'll severely limit the number of responses you get.)
Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into the module error. I decided on the log-in to cut down on spam.

edit: Can't fix the module, disabled mandatory log-in. (Strikethrough does not work here?)

I was going to ask if you paid less than $315? (http://camera777.com/21-ap-cage-for-red-scarlet-.html )
Shipping costs included, no. Otherwise yes.

I like this quote:

Please note: ,"Our products are not authorized, endorsed, sponsored, or affiliated with Red.com, Inc. (RED DIGITAL CINEMA). For authentic RED product, please visit www.red.com."

;-)

Wooden camera litigation seems so far away...

I will have an extra cage for Epic/Scarlet in a week or so, in case anyone's interested. I bought a shoulder rig that comes with the cage and I don't need a second one.

I don't understand the suing thing. Why would RED sue these guys?

I may be interested... still checking them out though. Let me know once you're selling

OK folks, the shoulder rig arrived and I now have a cage I don't need.

I examined the cage and it's the same as the one I wrote about on my blog -- with one exception: the 6 screws needed for attaching top plate to camera are not supplied. I don't know if Gini forgot the screws or what, but that's the dealio.

Anyhoo, the cage is for sale. I could let it go for $250 + shipping cost. I estimate $30 for Priority Letter from Finland to US, but I'll ask for an exact quote tomorrow at the local post office.

Note: the cage is currently $315 on Gini Rigs' webstore, but you can expect Gini to charge approx. $80 for delivery from South Korea to the US.

Paid $450 with shipping for one of the setups that included handles and a shoulder rig; it works great with the extra rod mounts when I need them... you do need to get the smaller top screws separate though, I found a stainless steel racing set at desmoparts.com

Wow funny, so typing w.o.o.d.e.n. c.a.m.e.r.a. turns into the letter "X" like this >>>>> wooden camera . It still pops up if you do a search for WC though.
