  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone using the Sonnet SF3 Thunderbolt 3 Redmag reader?

I bought one only to return it. Heavy, big power brick. My USB-C reader got faster speed from a single card, but two cards ran about 330MB/s each.
 
I use a MacBook Pro to manage offloads. To use old-style USB readers I needed a TB3 dock, which resulted in an extra bit of clutter.

With two of these devices I can offload four cards at a time without having five devices jumbled next to my computer.
 
I’ve been using it since it came out and it offloads 2 cards simultaneously at about 900 MB/s to an iMac Pro. Love it but also have a Red USB-C one for mobile work.
 
Got one immediately to offload 2 mags at once to iMac Pro and gTech studio XL Raids. Excellent performance.
