  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Anyone know a low-cost 18-85mm lens support?

Hey thanks you guys!
I am pleasantly surprised by the Optitek. Looks tough and the price is right!

I use the Allstar Cine support for the 18-85. $400 including either 15 or 19mm universal mount.

Optitek or Duclos are both excellent.

Completely on the other end, and maybe not what you want, but you might check these guys:

Although it is 15mm LW and may not work.

That's a joke right ?, it looks like it's water jet cut lol

I was looking at the Allstar one, Tom, but unfortunately Allstar informed me they are no longer in production.

HiSunilprem,
Unfortunately, that one won't work for me. I need somethinghttp://www.reduser.net/forum/member.php?34638-SUNILPREM for 19mm rails and to support the RED zoom which weighs about ten pounds. I wish I would be able to get one that was that inexpensive!
What I am leaning towards right now is the Optitek one, with the handle and the bridgeplate adapter. The lens bridge that Björn pointed out looks really good, however. It's a tough call because I am doing a sweeping gear upgrade for my small media company (I have only recently obtained my Epic X) and the costs are adding up, up, up. There is always something you didn't think of, that you end up needing and it always costs more than you want it to! :0

I use the zacuto lens support. A bit pricey but built really well (like all zacuto stuff) and fits 19mm rods like you need.

Cordvision, $59, all You need, maybe a tie down if Your lens goes on a remote head to look upside down. Well made, use it for 3 different zooms.

Zacuto +1. Using it. Ordered the Optitek at first but it was backordered and cost muuuuch more...
