  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any Scarlet arrived yet?

Please stop posting in this thread unless you got your scarlet. So we can keep this thread clean please. Cheers!
 
I understand, that people probably don't tell anybody about their scarlet having landed because they want to avoid those "Hey-Dude-Please-Go-Shoot-a-Feature-with-variable-Iso-and-Greenscreen-and-dadidadida...-and-post-all-the-R3D-Files"-Requests ... so let's agree that it is enough to post the date of arrival and the SO-Number, okay. Promise, we won't bother you with any other Requests ;-)

(Cause honestly, i can't remember more than 4 people having received their scarlet untill now, according to the threads here in this forum - please proof me wrong ;-)
 
one guy seems to have the scarlet #00056. so that would make a lot more than just 4
 
Just paid my balance today. Hopefully she goes out december 1st as planned. Oh and gotta love no sales tax on Red in Pa.

When you say you just paid your balance today, did RED contact you to do so, or was your card just automatically charged? Also, I'm assuming you ordered a Scarlet-X Canon Mount package? And, what is your SO number?

A lot of questions, I know... :-)
 
You may want to look into your use-tax laws. Many people have bought items from online stores thinking that you don't have to pay taxes on them. Buying something that is potentially $15,000 is hard for governing bodies to ignore and not paying the use tax for it may send your state tax collectors a RED flag. (Pun intended).

I paid my deposit by credit card. Then I read that sticky up there about orders and payment so I contacted James my rep about changing payment to a wire transfer. He sent me over the routing info and I went to the bank today and wired it. As for the sales order I am 0050991. Did anyone ever figure out the significance in that number?

Just because you wired it doesn't mean your balance is paid. It's placed in your RED account. You will still have 2-3 days before its in the account. I wired my money into my RED account on November 1st.

I've paid the deposit, but it essentially is just there ready to go. I'm 50945, I'm yet to be contacted about anything other than my order was placed, and other orders I made shipping. It doesn't actually mean your payment is complete and your order is processing it just means its there and ready to go.

The number you state is your order number. It could be for something as simple as AA Batteries to Scarlets. I think someone figured out that the first order was number 50850 for a Scarlet. Your in a good spot come the 1st if that really is the number.
 
Haha thanks Anthony I'm just thrilled not to have to pony up an additional 1100 at this point. I can settle up with the tax man later :)
As for your question, my rep emailed me monday and because of work and the holiday I had not been able to get to the bank until this morning. Hopefully the wire will clear this monday.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the state of CO is not the only entity that wants a piece of that. Total tax where you are is more like 8.7%. :-(

This is what came up for me when I did some research...

Colorado state use tax is the same rate as the sales tax, 2.9 percent. With proof of payment, sales tax paid to another state may be credited against state use tax due in Colorado for a particular item. Use tax is also collected by some special districts.

This is a very sticky situation too. I have been though a PA sales tax audit before. If you already collect sales tax on items you will need to check into it. If the camera is for rental and you charge the rentee sales tax than you don't pay a use tax. Since my Scarlet won't be a rental item and we charge sales tax on finished products I will most likely have to pay a use tax on the camera. It sucks that I almost know more about this than my accountant and it's not by choice.
