  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any one used Canon FD lenses on epic with fd to ef adapter?

I should have added one point, unless you need EF mount I would prefer leaving them FD, is much stronger. We needed EF for other reasons, however we did chose the best Stainless mount conversion we could fine re engineered by Les Bosher.

The other stuff was needed too, We also needed a focus gear as we need lens control at times so chose this too and its a small light gear. We also wanted to avoid big production matte boxes and use good quality screw on filtration, we can remove the 80mm fronts in seconds if we want.

We are building a second set now.

I use our FD lenses a lot small, fast, nice look and well built: http://wordpress.syndicate.se/syndicate-epic-fd-mount-and-lens-set/

Got a EF mount as well but I do not have as much love for the EF series.

You inspired me to buy a set of Canon FD's. Got the fast ones + a great 35mm f2.0 concave lens and think they are great.

I also got a 50-300mm f4.5L but haven't been able to try it out yet.. Anyone have an opinion about optical and mecanical performance of the 50-300mm? I know it's heavy, but is it a good lens?
