Hello !
I would like to know if ther is any new about the possibility of a RED module who does audio/video wireless transmission ?
Like the meizler do but just HDSI wireless and cheaper...
I'm looking at teradek Bolt and Paralinx Arrow but it would be so much better to have an RED solution who fit perfectly the Scarlet/Epic body...

So if you heard something about it...it's time to share !

Thanks !

Ted did mention on Monday that "other" versions of the Meizler are being worked on. It did not specify any ETA thou...

For what it is worth - I would like to see a compact module (no larger then 2x the module adapter or the +1 monitor module) with the following functions:

- WiFi HD video and audio (the audio is not that important to be honest, I can get that from the Sound Devices)
- no need for proxy recording (It is almost 2013, proxies are so 70's LOL, all modern NLE's and finishing tools support R3D's directly)
- plus 1 RED EVF/LCD output to connect a second RED monitor
- WiFi FIZ control for Canon smart mount (well FI only) via FBW (fly by wire - no need for cables and motors) - to support the future REDMOTE PRO
- back-mounted IDX V-lock plate (as on the big Meizler)
- connects directly to the back of the Scarlet without the need for module adaptor, lifts her up to industry standard height and adds mounting points for 19mm or 15mm rods in the front...
- iPad app

I would gladly pay $ 5000 for this...

+1 for this module and the redmote pro !!!

Peter's wish-list hits all the spots for me too. XLR, Wifi HD to iPad and remote control likewise (especially of Canon lens AF). And of doing it, certainly add 15 mm LWS rods at
standard height and V-moiunt at the back :)

I'd definitely buy one if the cost is less stratospheric than Meizler Module.

Cheers, Hywel.

I know the Paralynx is a solid inexpensive solution but I have to say that at $13000 the Meizler mod is a great deal for all it does. We are using the very well designed Nebtek DH transmitter on our show and it costs $19,500 a pop.

Peter, You are 100% correct. The Meizler is amazing value for all the larger productions...

The issue is when it comes to Scarlet - especially the ones with Canon mount (the vast majority of Scarlets). There is no need for motor driving circuity and connections, as Canon lenses are operated electronically. Also proxy recording is not that important for many. Most of us are one-man-show and do the post ourselves. There is an inherit benefit of working directly with the R3D's in such a simplified workflows. And for those who really need proxies - there are easy after-market solutions out there. Also all the "pro" connectors (like the sync, 3D, etc...) are mute for the type of productions Scarlets are used on. What we really need is the wireless monitoring, wireless control for Canon lenses, back-mounted V-lock and connectors that matter to us - such as 4x XLR (can record the audio directly to camera from the external mixer - no need for digital audio recorder), HD-SDI and HDMI for monitoring, Plus 1 RED EVF/LCD output, power and head-phones...

I have summarized such a "scaled-down" version in this thread to gather some feedback:

http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?89728-Meizler-Mini-(for-Scarlet)&highlight=

TED did mention last Monday here in Tokyo that RED is working on smaller "scaled-down" version of the Meizler, so I thought it would be great if they hear from us about what we really need...

Glad to see You visit "this corner" of the forum... ;o)

Peter
