Hi everyone !

I don't know if this tread has already been discussed, as I can't find it with the search option...

But can somebody tell me if there's a possibility of macro mode with the fixed Scarlet. Like one inch away from the subject or something...

That would be really cool ! :001_cool:

Oh OK ! Probably missed that one !
Thank you David ! ;)

To increase macro capability one can always add an achromatic diopter lens (filter) to the front of the fixed Scarlet lens.

And that's not as close as it can get too :)

It can get VERY close indeed - I know - Deanan and I tried it out last week!

Nothing is suggesting that to me. It just works as the next logical step in a logical mind. 'It's not here now, so it must be here in about six months time.' I wouldn't hold my breath. If you look back through the posts from this time last year, people were saying the same thing. I'm not saying don't get excited about when it is here, or when it's going to arrive. But don't plan anything around the release. I don't think the average person can be expecting to shoot with a Scarlet till 2012. IMO

I'm more curious about breathing than about the CFD (the distance in that photo is already plenty for me, closer is gravy)

With macro breathing can be a major compositional problem (but for some reason, non-macro work I don't mind it nearly as much as most people).

I'm curious about breathing too. But one thing that I can take comfort in is that I will only ever deliver HD with this cam, so with 3k of resolution, at least I can keyframe and resize to adjust for any breathing that will occur - extra resolution is too cool. Of course, if your output will be film, then I understand your concern. These guys at RED are professionals, and althought at $5.75k you can only do so much with a lens and camera design, I am sure that it will at the very least fall into the category of "very good" in regards to breathing. All conjecture of course, can't wait to find out for sure!
