Any new production monitors at NAB?

I'm currently considering the JVC DT-V24L1 as a production monitor for working with RED and other footage. Has anyone seen anything new come out around the same price range ($2000 for the non-sdi version)?

Thanks

Jean

I'm looking at the 17" version of that series with the HD-SDI. It goes for $2500. It's lighter, and you can run it off of V-mount batteries too, which you can't on the 20" or up. It also has a hood accessory, and C Stand adapter accessory, although those aren't available through B&H yet. I think 17" is big enough for a 720P output from the RED. Also HD-SDI is a plus too.

I saw this rad monitor I loved a lot.
I don't know much about it but i believe i heard them say it was under $2,000.00
with all kinds of outputs.
and nice battery set up.

you can see it in these pictures

I have the 24 inch JVC and it's the best field monitor I've ever seen. Beautiful display. And if RED ever enables 1080p out of the camera, you are a step ahead of the game. Downside is there's no hoodman for this yet, and it's a bit cumbersome to lug around in the field. And there's no waveform, which is a nice feature on the Panasonics. But everyone raves when they see it. I may get the 17" as well.

Thanks for your illuminating comments, thinkbug. Question: How are you powering your 24 inch JVC in the field? There's no V-mount option on the 24 inch (unlike on the 17 inch JVC), so I'm wondering whether you're using a battery-inverter. Just curious.

I'm torn between the Panny and the JVC. For what I will be shooting, it will be especially crucial for me to track how much my blacks are above the noise level. The built-in waveform on the Panasonic is an absolute plus, but I can't help but think that JVC will kick the Panny's ass when it comes to certain focusing issues. Not sure what to do yet.

Sirkian, if I'm not mistaken, the RED allows you to monitor waveforms, so you should be able to monitor that with the JVC. However, somewhere else on this forum, someone mentioned that he was not able to display images in the proper proportions on the JVC (other monitors have this problem too apparently) so I'd double-check that. And maybe that problem has been solved...
