Any experience using the cheese plate with the bottom plate ?

Dont have my red yet, but i plan to fix the cheese plate under the red bottom plate instead of using the dovetail. It seem more solid that way. Guess its fix together with the Red bold sold by Red ? Anyone had any bad experience with that setup ?

It´s solid. It takes some time to change from cheesplate to dovetail. Arri base is still more solid option.

i have it ... i dislike it (when i have to remove it to change out to Red hand held dove tail ) ... bottom line is it works !!
takes TOO MUCH TIME to remove it and later put it back on ...

if i was ordering today (i have the ET 15/19 base plates too) i would consider

then to switch between hand held ( red dive tail )& tripod (AllStar ) would be very fast ...

The AllStar cheeseplate have less holes, but its only 80$... do you think that it will be a mistake to cancel my Red cheese plate and get the AllStar one ? Look like they are the same size...

Looks like Allstar's cheeseplate is meant for mounting on top of camera only.

COuld one attach the RED cheeze plate to the bottom of the AllStars? I know this would add a little vertical hight and not sure they would attach proper.

Hallo

I made such a Plate for a Filmproduktion in Vienna called Nanook Film.

The Material for this Plate is a 10 mm Aluplate cuttet with a 60 ° Mitred on a Proxxon Circular saw.

The Problem was to fix the Plate on the Red Groundplate. I done this with M 10 Sinkskrews witch i shorted from 20 mm to 15 mm.
