Is that a single quarter inch mount hidden on the back as well? Guessing you will still need the DSCM 2 LCD/EVF adapter.

Just received tracking that our first shipment of direct mount monitors is arriving this Friday:
RED DSMC2 TOUCH 7.0" ULTRA-BRITE LCD DIRECT MOUNT 730-0028 $3750
Finally just got mine after many months of waiting
First quick impressions :
- It's heavier than the normal 7". The hinge version is 265g heavier than the normal hinge Lemo version I had until now, once I added the Lemo adaptor. (I don't use the pogo connectors, only cables)
- It's also bigger (not the screen by itself, but the framen it's like 1 cm more in width) and thicker (a few mm, but it's quite noticable).
- It's wayyyyy brighter than the original 7". Obviously, that's why I bought it and it seems to deliver
It's a bit early for me to say how accurate it is colour wise.
I also need to find the right brightness setting for indoor use. On the original 7", I usually dialed back 3 points of brightness when shooting indoors. On the Ultra-brite, I think the right setting would be around -5 or even -6.
Anyway, can't wait to try it out outside, I might finally be able to see what I'm framing even in broad daylight![]()
What is your impression so far, now that it's been a couple months?
And how is the power draw with the new ultra brite?
