Just wanted to let you guys know that Dylan McLeod (a very experienced DP who has lots of RED experience as well) came in to test the MX and the old M sensors in a controlled side-by-side. Shooting charts and stepping up and down exposure to see where each camera's useable range is.
We made a video of his testing and have put it up on our site. Most of our tutorial videos go for $3 each, but we got this one up for just $0.50 since it is more informational than tutuorial. Well worth a look though, and thanks a ton to Dylan for taking the time to do this. Much appreciated.
new video posted for REDCine-X and FCP workflow. details:
This tutorial shows how to import a FCP XML into Redcine X 183 (the new official software of Red Digital Cinema), using the conforming capabilities of the new Clipfinder 2.5. It will show also how to come back into FCP with a new XML with the same editing but with transcoded files by Redcine X. A must have tutorial to better understand the new tools for the Red world.
another new video up on using AVID metafuze. Details:
Avid MetaFuze is one of the best free applications for preparing RED dailies for Avid Media Composer. The upcoming Media Composer V5 has the ability to import RED files directly but even so, if you need to turn around a large volume of dailies every day MetaFuze is the way to go. This tutorial explains the basic use of MetaFuze with RED footage.
