Cafe Sorbonne - Varicam LT & Angenieux EZ lens test film

By Band Pro Film & Digital

Taking the Varicam LT out for a few days with the Angenieux EZ lenses. Testing it's skintone response, very impressed with it's rendering of secondary colors, and of course, it's dual ISO performance (800 for Day & Studio, 5000 for Night). Most of the night photography is entirely done with streetlights, sometimes enhanced with a Skypanel dimmed way down. Seemed like a killer package for cinematic documentary shooting and also for lightweight location film making. I was super impressed. Please reply with any questions related to the production and we will answer them. Also see our BTS video about this production here: vimeo.com/214264604.

At home | A Journey Back to Greece

By Nick Kontostavlakis

I am Nick, a freelance photographer.
In the past 10 years I‘ve been travelling and photographing around the world.
What I realized, though, was that I had gradually stopped seeking new destinations. I found a place that offered me a sense of stability and warmth where my inspiration and creativity amplified. Nature in all its’ forms was still surrounding me: Snowy landscapes, deep canyons, lakes and rivers, vast forests and of course the sea.
In the end, I think I found my destination, a place that has nurtured me, and has always been so close to me. That makes me feel home!
Greece.

I love the Angenieux Optimos and the EZs in that order. It seems like the Optimos have a very cinematic look right off . I like that you can change mounts on the EZs and they can be set for Vista Vision sized sensors. Used Optimos are about the same price as new EZs. It seems like a lot of people are getting rid of them after going bigger sensor. So, there are a lot available used.
The real curve ball fro me is the canon CN-E 30-105 and 14.5-60 . Especially since they can be fitted with an EF adaptor if needed.
Does anyone have any first hand knowledge of the differences between the Aneniuex and the canon CN-E .
Just wondering . Not a lot of footage online for the canon CN_E Ωooms. But, i hear that people love them.

Thanks,
Tim
