Hi

In the middle of a production, but playback is tempting...

So far the only reported issue I have seen, is that one can get vertical lines, and that a reboot takes care of them.
Mark Toia has reported that there's no audio over hdmi, which is a non-issue to me.

Anything else?

Cheers

Gunleik

I've had playback freeze when a clip is allowed to crash out of space on the card. Shot all day today without any big issues with one M and one X synced for 3d. One camera returned from playback to motion badly- gave a stuttery weird LCD display as if the frames were out of sequence and jittering back and forth in time. Restart and all was fine, only happened once.

I have had thE touchscreen become completely unresponsive several times. Power cycling fixes it. Once on boot the screen stayed blank. Again power cycling fixed it.

Same here. Other than that, haven't noticed anything major.

So far, the only thing I've noticed is that the camera (an M) takes longer to start up. Maybe 12 seconds instead of 9.

After focus magnification, toggling out left me with a split screen where a portion of what should be frame right was displayed frame left. Power-cycled to reset image. This happened to me twice. To my knowledge, this is only a viewing issue, not a recording issue.

Have had the same happen, but only it was temporary and righted itself within half a second. The touchscreen seems less responsive than previous builds.

When monitoring RAW, I don't get the yellow highlighted 'R (tick)' in the lower part of the display I am used to, but instead the 'OFF' is highlighted in yellow. If I toggle the same, I just get OFF/OFF but one in white, one yellow.

Screen froze after shooting 2k 300fps. Tried to go back to 5k 2:1. Reboot fixed.

I actually saw this happen once before before the ALPHA. It was in build 1.6.44 that I had this happen. Only once though.

I am having issues with Audio..... I can hear the audio, and see the levels moving but during playback I can not hear it. This is through HDSDI. Not only through HDSDI but through RCX-Pro. I can see the audio waveform in RCX-Pro, but no sound.... not sure about this one. Have tried different settings, and nothing seems to come through.

I noticed that on ReStarts or Battery changes the audio cables need to be removed and reset.

I noticed that when the battery changes the Compression resets randomly at 3:1 or 18:1 compression.
The camera is not resetting the compression from the preset files.
It has to be reset to whatever you want to shoot at.

Other than this pretty solid.

Audio is not supported in playback - from the readme that came with version 2.0.2:

Significant changes since previous Epic Build v1.7.9:
* Playback (video only)

I'm not sure why you can't hear it in REDCINE-X PRO

camera worked non stop for 10 hours... no issues other than some of the above mentioned.... all resolved with a simple restart..... playback was marvelous.... slomo, regular speed 2x, etc...

We changed to 2.0.2 because the director wanted to have playback when shooting slomo, but we had several issues to get the hdsdi signal to work, just had a black and white picture tried that on 4 different monitors and could not get it solved. So that was a shitty day, playback is nothing worth if you cant watch it :(

That's strange. I ran it all day with a Teradek Cube 120 feeding via HD-SDI signal. Not a problem on 2.02 or previous firmware.

Gunleik, I don't want to derail this thread, but do you see any differences between the M and X cameras? I mean regarding pictures. I know all about the machined body, etc.

I don't see any reason why there would be a difference between M and X cameras. From what I know they are exactly identical in all ways except for the exterior shell. Hand machine compared to production line. Small variance in the heat sync but all of the current M cameras will be swapped to the new heat sync free soon enough.

I don't see why there would be a difference either, but Gunleik mentioned that he actually has both X and M cameras, and I respect his attention to detail in his testing. Thought he's be a good person to ask.

This may be a stupid question, but how do I get the Alpha firmware? I see a beta 2.02 for Scarlet, but how do I get the Alpha for Epic?
