I was hired to produce / direct / edit this piece for yogurt company ALOVE. The piece is called "Honoring the Ingredients" and is a nod to the Japanese heritage of the brand. They wanted to show the care they have taken in making a delicious product with aloe vera.

Shot on RED Helium 8K on Angenieux EZ lenses.
Slow motion was on a Phantom Flex 4K with Laowa 24mm probe lens on Camera Control Bolt System

Thanks Bob! I ended up buying a set after an extensive look through the projector at BandPro with Jeff Cree. The performance for dollar spend is Amazing. Are thre better lenses out there? Yes. For me though, they are well worth the money I spent on them.

Nice one and nice grade too!

Thanks Phil! I spent a lot of time in Resolve with this one to really make the aloe vera pop. I also have to give a ton of credit to my gaffer Mickey Peterson, as he really dialed things in on set for me as well.

Very well done. The colours are very natural - I really have no respect for the heavy grading you often see in commercials. I'm not pretending that the colour was easy for you to achieve, but what I am saying is that it's exactly as the ad said: "cool, clean, fresh." BTW I don't suppose you mind telling us what the frame rate was for the slow-motion shot?

Thanks Karim! Yes, natural was the main goal. I wanted to make the commercial kitchen a bit moody with our lighting and have the home set light and airy. From there it was balancing each of the shots and a series of nodes to pump the aloe without losing detail of its texture.

For the Phantom shots- we were at 600FPS 180 degree shutter with a lens that only opens up to F14. We had a TON of light REALLY close to the aloe to accommodate for our frame rate. The gaffers even had to run back to the valley to get some more HMIs during prelight. It was rough, but worth it. :)

Wow, f14 at 600fps.
+ for the natural grade.

Yep- We had 2 Arri Skypanel S360s REALLY close, an HMI over the shoulder of the chef pointing straight at the bowl and another 2 HMI's filling in the background. The Laowa lens is rad, but requires a TON of light... Lemme find a BTS pic...

This will give you a bit of an idea of light required to shoot f/14 at 600FPS. :)

The Skypanels were rigged overhead for our regular speed shots, so they walked them in a bit and then added the HMI's for punch...

Great work, makes me want to try that yogurt now :)

LOL- thanks! I guess that is the goal, right? :)

Its actually pretty good! Refreshing and light. Lets just say I did a lot of testing of the product before, during and after the shoot!

gotta be super proud of that one...nice work all around...
