  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Allstar lens is available - 80-200mm T3 PL and 50mm T1.5 PL

can you make your pl Lenses EF mount? Like GL OPTICS that would be great if you do!!!
 
I have no idea why Allstar is mixing up different lens brands and coatings?
It would be far more logical to rehouse affordable Sigma Art range or Nikon f1.8g primes.
Just do simple 4 lens set from Sigma or Nikon and 2 - 3 zoom lenses from SAME Lens Company.
Especially 24-70!
I really dislike to have set of primes from 3 different Lens Makers.
At least company like TLS does have certain logic in the way they make things, certain order;-)

It is $2800 USD.
It won't. 18-35 Iris ring is very close to the back, and the range it rotates is short, so we don't use damping oil to make it be easy to rotate. But if customers think their products need improvement, they can send it back to us to deal with it. If the warrenty sticker is perfect, this won't cost any charge. We will pay for the return shipping fee, within 3 months from the products were purchased. So you can send your lens to us if you want to improve the iris ring.

Also, will it have a loose/wiggly iris like my 18-35, or will it be more "thick" like the focus and zoom ring? That's my only complete about the 18-35.

Hi,
For me, the rehousing lens is for dealing with some situations, only a few still camera lenses can substitute for cine lenses. Normal condition, cine lens will be principal. Money should be spent on image, instead of on mechanical part. So I would rather spend more money on true cine lenses, than expensive rehousing lenses. In my own test, the image of super speed 50mm T1.3 is even better and shaper than Canon, Nikon, Leica Sigma Contax..these still camera lenses @1.4 .
People always think that same brand lenses will fit with each other. If you test them carefully, you will find one brand's lenses might has more CA on this focal length, and get more breathe on another focal length, warmer on another one... And it always has some disadvantage on the other range of zoom lens, I won't take Nikon 14-24 to go with 80-200, because 14-24 has sever breathe issue, so that I don'e think it is not good for video. And I choose Sony 16-35 and 24-70, but skip sony 70-200 because it dosen`t match with them.

Above, i want to let everyone know that rehousing lens is a tool, you don't have to demand it too much, and don't spend too much on it.

Sure CA and breathing could be a problem but try to match Tokina to Zeiss still lenses in grading.
Secondly regarding Nikon 14-24, lets see how TLS go about it.
Why not Nikon 17-35 or Nikon 28-70.?
I want to say You and GL Optical mention rehousing 24/28-70 Full frame zoom more then year ago.
Instead of this, you guys, keep taking "easier rehouse options", rehousing primes or short , almost parfocal zoom lenses ....
This talk about Sony 24-70, lets see ho long if ever it will get done.
How soon can this be done(24/70)?
