  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Allstar A-mount system is available! --with REDONE approved!

The FFD of A-mount is 44mm, if I want to make it shorter, it will lose REDONE approved and your warranty.
So FD, M, 4/3...which has FFD less then 44mm won`t be mounted on A-mount.
The G lens adapter will work like F adapter, and iris ring control will on the rear of lens, it will provide iris detents like a native iris ring. I think it will perfrom better then that adapter.
BNCR....I need to finish G adapter first.:emote_hanged:

After trying some Leica lenses, I have to say: If you want to get still camera lenses for movie camera, Leica lenses is the best choice, the only defect is too expensive, or I`ll get a set of Leica. Ziess isn`t a competitor in still camera lenses, specially ZF, just won in price.

Hi,

I asked this question before, didn't get a response...can you use A-mount on a Canon camera?

Thanks.

Thanks for the confirmation.
I do have a set of Leica van Diemen rehoused lenses. 10 absolutely magnificent gorgeous lenses.

Allstar A-mount system is available! --with REDONE approved!

Hi Allstar - I just want to confirm that my wonderful Allstar mount has been approved by RED and will not void warranty or make the RED ineligible for the Stage 2/3 Epic upgrade. Jarred's list at http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=29327&highlight=approved+lens+mounts and Martin Weiss list at http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20179 don't list Allstar as approved. Do you have a link or quote from Jim or Jarred? This is very important that we have some form of written approval from RED - Thank you, John

It is approved, I asked Jarred myself....perhaps he can chime in again. I am currently DPing a feature in Dublin Ireland using and testing the ALLSTAR A-mount and its hands down the best alternative to PL mount I have used. I wish I could get my Leica M glass converted but as many know its complicated. Turned my Nikon ZF set into a quality robust set of lenses with a mount that can stand real world production use. Wrapping feature tomorrow and I will be following up with a full review. When there is an A-mount made for the EPIC I plan to continue using it, simply no comparison with an f-mount (nikon). cheers.

Hi guys , there are prototype of BNCR and G Lens adapter. BNCR adapter are doing the surface treatment right now, Will available soon. I'm so apologize for keeping you waiting, after 2 months when I retire from god damn army, I can control the rate of scheduled progress normally.

With A-mount system, you can use different lenses in a project, because you don`t need to waste time on changing mount. for example:

This is a tight-buget commercial project, so I rent a set of Zeiss T1.3 MKIII to shot major scene:

and Nikon G 14-24mm for wide shot

and Lieca 90mm for close-up

Nice Work

We are doing this too. We don't have the Van Diemen converted lenses but the Leica R's with gears fitted work just fine. The images are beautiful.

And I can take the A mount off and put them on a 5D, and they cover FF35.......

I've been asking the same question but no one has answered....

A-mount to Canon?

Yes or No

My A-Mount with the PL-mount and 3 Nikon mounts are now sitting in customs. Hopefully that doesn't take long because I would like to get my mounts before the weekend. Might have a job for them this weekend.

mine were out next day... but of course the post office effed my delivery up

Well the post office has never failed me yet. So hopefully I'll have them before the end of the week. How are you liking your setup right now. How many Nikon adaptors did you get?
