Just walked out of a huge 16 hour per day 6 day shoot... completely tired & rooted !!!... Did not have a chance to use or install camera playback, as I hate walking into any job with untested firmware.

Now Just about to jump onto plane with a 2 epics for a 5 country shoot over 12 days...
It's the type of shooting I love, Small crew, big pictures, good budget. :) I cannot ask for more than that... for this job camera playback is an absolute must !! Where we are going there is know opportunity to be dragging around another box with a play back unit or another person. It's all cloak and dagger and working fast as hell...

We have just tested the new Firmware with the PLAYBACK and all I can say is WOW!!!!!! , I had one of those rare little moments were hairs stood up on the back of my neck... (with a little giggle attached).
It's actually better than I dreamed it would be. The over all camera even works faster and smother than before, new speeds and frame sizes... so much more than just play back.

I was hoping for at best a simple play and rewind button, but instead you have looping, edit in and outs... everything!! its way way better than I hoped for.
I'm now officially the happiest I can be with this camera. It's the first time in history (for me) that a single camera gives me more of than I need in all areas. Every camera I ever owned had never ticked every box... but this one does.

Being the nosiest and most vocal of all on this forum regarding PLAYBACK, All I can say to RED, Jim and everyone that has ever contributed to the success of this camera is...

"PERFECT !" "PERFECT !""PERFECT !"

Bit hard if you not standing next to me watching the screen :)))

I'm just a happy camper at this moment! I just hope I don't discover some trippy bug on my shoot. but all looking good so far.

Man! I tell you this though... it transforms the camera into another world!

Hey Mark, try switching ISO during playback, it's so cool! And swiping like an iphone to scroll through the clip! Madness!

Today I noticed there was no sound on playback. :)

There you go Toia.

I see your playback and I raise you playback with audio. :)

Playback is a very nice feature. Very nice.

Thanks RED team.

HA! Mark, you just reminded me of a funny story a friend has about working in your neck of the woods. It was his first time to Australia, on a month-long assignment and during that time was invited to a fellow employee's home for a surprise birthday party. As they waited for the birthday boy to arrive, my friend suggested to the host's wife that they should look for the gifts by saying, "Let's go into the bedroom to root around and look for any presents". She was stunned, he was clueless and everyone else went silent. Guess the word "root" has a different meaning down under...

hahahahaha... same... but used in a different context.. :))))

When I was in the states shooting the model said she was Rooting for me... :)... stopped me in my tracks, but then pulled aside and explained that she was cheering or supporting me for the rest of the shoots success. :) You gotta love the modern word.
