  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This story could of ended much more tragic given those details... as much as it sucks you temporarily lost #6.. it's replaceable. Those 6 children and 8 men and women are not. Glad everyone is ok.
 
I am in the Alps right now and will keep both eyes open for any hint, glad your family is safe, happy new year's eve.

If Epic was the only "thing" that they took, maybe they knew about the camera.
I think should be nice in the future if there is some kind of access password to turn on the camera. Also for the red one.

it looks to me like a James Bond - Schilthorn Piz Gloria in the Jungfrau region of central Switzerland’s Bernese Oberland -

“On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” and “Quantum of Solace” or Clint Eastwood - "Where Eagles Dare" made sort of triller in Alps...
 
Just called 2 friends in France whom are film makers.
Its 10:37 am there
needless to say they are all spreading the word and on the look out in full.

I cant do much from here but Mark you have everyone's support and eyes looking out.

It'll turn up fast, no doubts on that, a camera that hot wouldn't be held for long and if they do know what they have then I'm sure they also know that they won't be able to use it outside without someone in the world going "Hey!Look!"

I was joking with a friend the other day about Mark being somewhere in the Alps with an Epic, and how we wanted to get our hands on it... I feel really stupid now, sounds like a very stupid joke. I can't believe that happened. I wonder if it's really a hap-hasard thing, thieves looking for valuables or was the point of the burglarly precisely to steal that Epic ? Industrial/scientific theft ?

All my thoughts go out to you and your family Mark. Having one's property stolen, and even more so, having people sneaking around while your sleeping, is a something which can really affect you. I am glad you are all physically unharmed and I hope you are equally not overly marked by this intrusion.

So sorry to hear this, Mark. I am glad that it sounds that you and your family were not harmed, but this unspeakable act was both cowardice and shameful.

With some luck, #0006 will be returned to it's rightful owner. This does sound a bit suspicious though. Not sure if they realized what an EPIC is, but perhaps they saw you with what looked like an expensive camera earlier in the day... I'm just so sorry you and your family had to go through that traumatic event.

Hang tough - wer'e all with you.
 
SHIT...It feels like we were all robbed.

The 3 Vallies is a special place and it's shocking to here what happened.
I had a snowboard stolen in Courchevel and I can't imagine how you must feel.

Hey no one got hurt and its the only Epic around so a pretty stupid move on their part.
Just goes to show you got to be careful advertising what and where and it's amazing how someone could do this...
 
Mark, I'm very sorry to hear that! I'm glad that at least no one was hurt. I know the feeling of feeling unsafe after an incident like that.
I wish you all the best and you guys hopefully can have a good and happy new years eve anyway.

Terrible. Glad everyone is safe.

Not my place to suggest: send this to Engadget / Gizmodo. They will publish sooner or later anyway - the sooner in this case, the better. No one will be able to shoot any commercial work with the wonder, just steal the IP.

Not always a fan of mass distribution, but in this case the more eyes are aware of the stolen wonder, more chances of return. The only potential buyers are the competitors, assuming it wasn't the case originally.

OMG! I HATE theives! I,m so sorry Mark. Glad to hear that everyone is ok. Sorry your Holiday has been messed up like this. It will come back. They have no idea what they took. It will come back! You can't hide this.
 
Sorry to hear this. What springs to mind is they might try and sell it back to you.
That would be the smart thing to do assuming they know what they are doing, they know what they stole and its planned.
