  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Advice needed - Best interim cam

This sensor is smaller than a Full Frame DSLR sensor?

Yes the T1i sensor is 16x24 APSC format. Roughly S35 slightly bigger than Red with 3:2 aspect ratio. The new one will have new sensor and possibly DigicV DSP to handle the data rate.

That sounds exciting - so I guess I'll wait a month...
 
Well it looks like the 7d might just be a good fit. Hopefully will be out by the end of September, and actual 24p recording. Exciting.
 
Why is the GH1 absent from this discussion? The price seems perfect for an interim camera. No stated limit to shooting time other than size of storage. Auto focus during recording. Lens included seems to be acceptable. Any thoughts?

It is a charming camera and has many ergonomic pluses VS the Canon's, but fails on one major point: the codec. It should be good enough for Web based or SD content, however.
