Nothing new here for you AfterEffect wizards, but here is a super fast test I did with a rough piece of raw 4K test footage. Pretty cool...minus the weird focus effect after the stabilization. Either way, I can definitely see me using this for a 2K (or below) delivery....which is 100% what I currently do ;)

Where I think this has the potential to shine is when you want to make a decent hand-held/ shoulder mount move look smooth like a dolly or steadicam. No way do I think it will replace it, but for many of us on a super tight budget and in a bind I think it is a wonderful alternative!

Also for those curious - I was using a Canon L 100-400 IS

Looks really solid, I haven't had the change to use CS6 at all, is there a mix so that you can make it less "stabilized". There's a strange warp in the middle and I'm wondering if a happy middle ground would get rid of that. There's some movement, but it's smoothed, if that makes sense.

I was putting warp stabilizer through its paces the other day with some pretty challenging shots. I found that just setting the smooth amount to 5% on hand held footage gave me a very organic feel without the weird warping that occurs with the most challenging camera moves. its really nice, it took all of the little jerks and vibrations away but left a nice smooth movement to everything! try it out. I'll post some tests when I get a chance. Very useful little tool! I'm planning on going up in a heli and shooting a high shutter then seeing what I can get with warp stabilizer just for fun :)

This is the Scarlet forum... let's keep post production software stuff to the post production software/Adobe workflow part of the forum, eh champs?

I'd like to hear/seeing your results, please post if you can.

Very beautiful woods you live near, btw.

Mitch,

Are those film burns 3k/4k? Been looking for some of those, thanks in advance!

Warp Stabilizer in CS6 is awesome, we just stabilized a ton of footage from the bed of a pickup, worked like a dream with some tweaks to the settings, we ended up using:
Smooth Motion
10% Smooth
Perspective

Much faster than the old AE version.

Awesome feedback everyone! Like I said, I had a very short window of time to mess with it...I'm sure it could look much better. I wanted to show one extreme (very shaky) vs. another extreme (stationary). I plan on using this tool like others have mentioned to more or less smooth out handheld footage. Fun stuff.

Trevor - thanks for policing the boards...we can always count on you
