  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ADOBE PREMIERE 6 --- I HAVE NO WORDS ....

the link is now prohibitively slow and then randomly cancels. Of course I was 1 min away from a complete download when i accidentally crashed my cpu. Now that my SSD is back in place I cant DL the thing. Anyone want to host it?

Me. Might be a good way to test my bandwidth. 100Mbit uplink. Worried if the link gets passed around, my bill will be crazy.

Plus, Adobe might get pissed? They are here after all.

Well....on CS 5.5 i get kind of crappy playback in my timeline....My timeline is setup with a Matrox preset for 1920x1080p with mixed RED, AVCHD and prores files...I'm running a RR card and Quadra 4000 on my mac pro and get really stuttered playback...BUT, i do get my external monitors playing off of my Matrox MXO2---one via HDMI to my 50" Plasma and the other via dual SDI to a converter for single link 3g to my FSI 24" monitor....that part works brilliantly...all in 5.5 (with the exception of what i would call just crappy playpback).....

CS 6: I get FANTASTIC playback with NO stuttering....However there are no longer any options when setting up a sequence to choose Matrox MXO2 settings....so, i've tried a generic 1080p and RED sequence all at 1080p....and get NO external monitoring to my Matrox or through my Matrox to my "other" monitors.... I believe another user said --teh OP that is...that he is getting playback on his BM card...HOW IS THAT? anyone got a clue or a way to get MATROX playback?

In PP did you go into preferences, playback, and set up your Matrox?

That's just it....there is NO LONGER any Matrox settings available in CS 6.0....unlike 5.5...where i have a full Matrox folder of presets--I beileve another user stated that this was not longer going to be necessary with CS 6.

you don't need a matrox project preset anymore but you have to tell Premiere what card/device you want to output the video... You need to specify the device, and the settings to output. I don't believe it is just automatic... the project itself can be whatever...
 
Hmm, I only got BM playback after selecting a BM preset. Wouldn't work with a Red 5k preset even when I clicked the BM card on as an output device in preferences. Do we still need to use BM presets for output to HD-SDI? By the way, the playback was perfect, where it was previously unusable in 5.5.
 
RED and adobe 6 is a game changer !!!! Opens up RAW with professional tools to soooo many people ;)

The links worked fine for me btw - i installed into a ssd drive ... so testing the new caching stuff. I btw decided to go with two licenses, one cloud license (was 29$ since i'm a existing account) and one upgrade of my master collection.

Matt, but where would you do this? do we need to edit a text file then ? I've looked at all the project and sequence settings and see no place that seems to give me an option for sepecifying output to another device. and thanks by the way.....

no problem, I only saw in the video that you need to go to preferences, playback, then either add in your device or just select it from the list. In their example he was using a Bluefish card and then switched open his laptop and ran video out through a Ultrastudio, AJA box, and Matrox box and it played out automatically. He didn't give any setup steps just showed basically that it worked... I'm not sure if there are any tutorials out yet but I'm sure it is a very simple option that we are unaware of at the moment. But they were all playing through the same timeline so you don't have to set up project settings a certain way...

scroll down the page and click on Interoperability with third-party tools to see what I'm talking about.

Wish I could help more but Adobe made it sound as though it was extremely simple and hardly any setup was needed and from the video it looks that way. I just don't know the exact steps or settings.
 
anyone having trouble opening the z7 file?

ive installed 7 zip but no such luck. anyother free zip software programs that have worked for this file?

Get a Lynda.com subscription and never look back. Best $25/month you will spend.
 
Playback is good at 1/8 on MacBook pro 17" 2011 SSD 16GB RAM with openCL accel but it's not happening at 1/4. Dropping frames like crazy. CPU goes to 90~93% at 1/4. BM Ultra studio 3D thunderbolt also is not working properly even with newest 9.5 driver. Kind of disappointing for me. Rendering is also a b#^}h.

I'll wait for updates. The more people with it the better it will be with finding solutions.

I believe you'll need the updated drivers for CS6 from Matrox.
 
I am in testing whit my Hack.. and BM 3d driver 9.5, and red epic 5k file R3D , playback timeline 1080 25p whit card 3D go to 1/2 realtime without redrocket to plasma and monitor hd-sdi, audio work great.

Not work for R3D :
1. warp stabilize , adobe warning about size of my video 5k.
2. multicam 4 video is ok , with 5.6.7.8. and more video 5k not work i have media offline error.
3. with multicam not have audio , lose.

next time i try with redrocket.
