Adobe & open format for digital cinema data!

Just noticed this on John Nack's website. I haven't seen the particular press release that he is quoting but check out who heads up the list of "leading camera manufacturers" that Adobe is working on with this. CNet has a little more on it as well.

My guess is that it can run the audio track through a voice recognition system and record the transcripted text into the metadata.

So Premiere Pro CS4 or CS5 should be able to check which takes were flagged as "print", sync the metadata speech against the screenplay and automatically drop the shots onto the timeline in the proper order... maybe stacking the multiple select takes of a particular shot on their own track.

It isn't automatic editing but it would save a fair bit of time to get up and going.
