Richard, I thought you were 56? (Years Old)
Haha, what gave you that impression? Am I that grumpy?
I'm in my twenties still.

I think it's dismissive...!!
...which I guess is the point, as I wouldn't want a continual flow of emails asking when, what or why can't I have my camera yet as I'm doing my best to get them out.
But I guess (hope) Red knows they can't have it both ways.....to have thousands of people with their nose pressed up against the glass waiting for their camera.......and not saying a word!
Cheers,
In the end of the day it's helpful if one realizes that RED has adopted a new style to make business which calls for a new attitude from the customers as well.
As far as I understand the key issues are:
1) RED's goal is to get the cost of the camera & accessories as low as possible, and
2) RED shares the information of R&D progress on these pages with all those who are interested in the camera.
3) RED updates their best assumption of the delivery schedule, and tells one to be prepared for changes.
Now, if one compares this to the traditional business style -big R&D teams, big sales department, expensive advertising companies around the world, and almost complete silence of the technical details- it soon becomes evident why the others are not able to sell a 4K camera for this price tag. The other way around, as we are going to get the camera for a very reasonable cost, it just implies one should not expect to have everything immediately.
Summing up, the question is of two sided coin. Picking the other side from RED and the other from Sony, Panasonic, or Canon is bound to create some internal frustation. What about: "relax"

The new schedule offers no insight into orders that are time stamped. We are just as eager as those with serial numbers to get our Reds. Please, more information.
It has become apparent that we cannot ship out all cameras on one day of a scheduled release. Please note the word "Begins" now is inserted into the schedule.
You CAN choose to wait until all features are enabled to take delivery (with no penalty). We now expect all features to be enabled by November 30th.
We encourage anyone that is nervous about accepting a camera that does not have all features enabled to wait.
Serial numbers 1-50 Delivered
Serial numbers 51-100 Begins October 15th (50 units)
Serial numbers 101-200 Begins October 30th (100 units)
Serial numbers 201- 600 Begins November 30th (400 units)
Serial numbers 601- 1100 Begins December 30th (500 units)
Serial numbers 1101- 1600 Begins January 30th (500 units)
Serial numbers 1601- 2200 Begins February 30th (500 units)
Serial numbers 2201- 2700 Begins March 30th (500 units)
Serial numbers 2701- 3400 Begins April 30th (700 units)
Serial numbers 3401- 4100 Begins May 30th (700 units)

That's a good reference, thanks Curran. I'm guessing that puts me around April/May area.
Here is some more info for reference:

The most important thing is the IBC dynamic. We expect a big influx of orders at IBC and an even bigger one right after so the queue will indefinitely be lengthened.
