  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Adding more fuel to the B16 fire...

...still testing but.... um......

WTF!!!!!!!!!!

You guys are working with some serious voodoo here. The noise is very organic... congrats. I love the feel of the images more. Way more natural. Bigger in weight, if that even makes any sense. The pictures I can pull out of total darkness feel like 16mm instead of digitized noise floor. I've been purposely underexposing stuff today to get a feel for what you can dig out of worst case scenarios. Bananas. That's all I can say right now... Bananas.

Just wanted to get the excited little boy shit out the way!

Like Shawn said earlier - it's like getting a new camera.

Well done RED. Well done.

No, you didn't miss anything, no confirmed date for B16 yet.

The excitement about the image quality generally is good, but hopefully there is systematic regression testing also, to close out alpha and move into beta. I mean confirming that the existing b15 bugs don't occur regardless of camera settings and scene content (codec errors, hangup on boot, etc.)

Jim had said in an earlier post he expected BETA 16 to be posted later this week. (But don't hold him to it)

That's the closest I've seen to a confirmation.(But I won't hold anybody to it)

But I really hope it's this week.....

Got a big tungsten based green screen shot in NYC next week, I would really love to have B16 in my back pocket If I can't get the light levels up enough for the 80C filter.
