Introducing the NEW HD-SDI splitter for the ActionProducts Module System

The HD-SDI splitter for the ActionProducts Module System can be mounted between any of the module segments and duplicates 1 HD-SDI input to 4 extra HD-SDI outputs (realtime). Signal in and one out are found under the module + 3 outs on the side. Fully compatible with the Apollo TopPlate (Camera to Splitter and Splitter to Apollo. Providing 3 outs on Module and one out on Apollo).

Battery Modules

Basic Module “Proteus”
Our modular system starts here...

Its main functionality is to provide the modular line up with quick release functionality. The Proteus will run power to the camera through the bottom inputs, while allowing operators to power their REDMOTE through a 5V connector (optional cable to Mini USB and other connectors). There is also an easy access 3.5mm headphone jack on the top, followed by an additional LEMO connector on the bottom that provides 12V power or (optional) a remote adapter to trigger on/off of the camera ("Schmitt" interface).

Battery Module

Its main functionality is to provide the modular line up with V-mount and Anton/Bauer battery mounting options (others to come). This makes operator’s setups flexible to mount to the “Electra or Proteus." They connect without cable directly through the module connectors. The Battery module (and actually also the electra) can be disconnected from the basic from the other modules and reconnected over cables of different lengths. This allows external mounting for counter-weight, etc. There will be several mounting options available - 15mm and 19mm rod mounts (with swivel), swivel for the razor shoulder-mount, etc.

Power Packages

"Proteus" + "Electra" + Battery Module

This modular system allows operators to add and remove modules using quick release technology to quickly alter functionality on the fly based upon their needs.

  • [*=left]"Proteus" allows quick release for "Electra" or "Battery Module".
[*=left]"Electra" gives 12/24 volt power distribution to the cameras and accessories. It's puffer battery allows camera and accessories to remain powered on for up to 4 minutes during battery changes.
[*=left]Battery Module works by itself, "Electra", or "Proteus" using V-Mount or Anton/Bauer batteries.

"Proteus" + "Electra" + V-Mount / AB Plates

This configuration does not come with the modularity options as with the Battery Module, but still includes a large range of powerful options.

  • [*=left]"Proteus" allows quick release for "Electra".
[*=left]"Electra" gives 12/24 volt power distribution to the cameras and accessories. It's puffer battery allows camera and accessories to remain powered on for up to 4 minutes during battery changes.
[*=left]V-Mount or Anton/Bauer Plate mounted directly to the "Electra" (Not quick release)

Top Plate

TopPlate Module “Apollo”

Its the ultimate tool for efficiency. With numerous mounting options, it provides both power and video distribution. This allows for easy rigging for all camera accessories and considers all sizes of production with its video I/O. The EPIC TopPlate "Apollo" comes with 3 cables, making it ready to go right out of the box. This plate utilizes a power D-TAP cable, HDSDI BNC cable, and a 4 pin LEMO cable. This allows for the unit to work standalone, or along side our Basic Module "Proteus".

If used with the "Proteus", you would just distribute the 3 cords accordingly…

  • [*=left]3 Pin Lemo plugged into the "Proteus"
[*=left]HD-SDI BNC ran through the "Proteus" connecting into HDSDI port on the EPIC
[*=left]4 pin Lemo ran through the "Proteus" connecting in the SYNC port on the EPIC

Quick Release Power Modules

"Electra" + Quick Release Plate

The ONLY reason you would buy this separately like this, is if you purchased the "Proteus" separately first and want to upgrade your setup. You NEED the "Proteus" to use the "Electra"

  • [*=left]"Electra" gives 12/24 volt power distribution to the cameras and accessories. It's puffer battery allows camera and accessories to remain powered on for up to 4 minutes during battery changes.
[*=left]Quick Release allows you to quickly add or remove the Battery Module.
[*=left]Ability to add future modules to system.

Thank you for your kind words. We are glad you love it. We will be taking pre-orders and announcing pricing 11-7-2011. :)

am i confused 10-7? are we in Nov?

hahhahahah.... clearly I need to actually go to bed and get some sleep. Thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Hi Justin, how many SDI out provided from your solution ?

Thanks

WOW!! :emote_head_explode:

But where is the socket for the kettle? The ability to make a cup of tea or coffee would go down well with the ACs! Maybe it's coming in another module? ;)

But all joking aside this looks amazing, congratulations to all involved.

All the best,

It really looks like a great product! Build from someone who knows the needs of an 1st AC !

But are you able to put in an additional Red module? I'm not sure but it looks like the Proteus is directly installed to the brain and connected to the Topplate.
My concern is:
- are you able to install a Red module like the Pro I/O module (everybody NEEDS a 2nd connection fpr LCD or EVF) or the hopefully soon to come Prores module ?
- will there be a gap between your Topplate on the brain and the Proteus if another module is installed?
- how is the wiring of Proteus and Topplate affected if I install a Red module?

The Electra looks like a perfect addition to the Epic, but I really need it to be compatible to future products.

All RED modules will need to be connected as first parts - then the Proteus goes to the back of the last Modul. There will be a top plate (with lots of mounting holes:) that will connect our Apollo top plate with the Proteus. In this extra top plate there will be some goodies (like a nespresso machine:).

I have all thought out:)

Looks great.

A couple questions:

I don't see why this wouldn't work for scarlet. I'm assuming it will?

And prices?

Also - I'm wondering if there are properly spaced mounting points on the apollo to use either Brooke's or Red's new side arms. It would be really nice to be able to have a few of them coming off the left side.

I have one question, why did you slant the battery plate?

Could reduce size of Electra this way. Also when using AB; V-Mount Batteries, your Battery will be sticking out top no matter what - also slanting the battery give it a nice hold when doing DLSR style hand-held - and it looks cooler:)

Have you got a Redmote yet, just curious.

I like to see a shoulder mount go between the proteus and Electra. That would be a complete setup for me!

Yes - thats the reason we made the 5V out on the proteus. By the way - next to the cable for the Redmote we will also be offering one for the iPad (or iPhone). Some people are using the cube. This way they can keep there iPad powered/charged.

Our "razor" works great with it. We will show some pics with this setup later. The pad from RED should also work w/o any problem. Others to of course.

Hey, Brian. I love the contained setup of that first picture you have listed in this thread. I'm a little confused what I would need to order to get exactly what is in that picture? Also, it says "preorders" tomorrow. How long before that would be shipped in that configuration? Thanks! Kevin
