  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

AbelCine becomes an authorized RED Digital Cinema dealer

Very nice indeed Phil!
Too bad i missed those bleached hair days from Jarred... would've being fun!

DVXuser has been around since 2002/2003 and that's when Jarred is talking about first forming the relationship. And he did say "almost 15 years later". He's not talking about RED's existence in this case, but rather DVXuser which in reality got the ball rolling for a lot of this if you think about it or were browsing the boards back then.

Here's a fun blog post from AbelCine from April 7th 2006 that's a fun read:
"Inside the DVXuser.com Phenomenon"

Heh. DVXuser was really awkward that first year, but it turned into a fantastic and massive community. Same could be said for REDuser at this point.

Jarred, this is fantastic! Really smart move. The more authorized dealers that can support the line of products will lead to even more satisfied customers.

OMG! I forgot I won 2nd place in the 2004 DVXFest!!!

I won a "newly released Century Optics LCD Hood"

Really great to be a part of the extended family. We love the opportunity to sell and support RED products, and be a bigger part of this community. I remember following you, Jarred,on DVXuser and watching it and this company grow. Really amazing how things have turned out. Thanks for having us, we're all excited at AbelCine - especially us tech guys.

Speaking as a former employee of AbelCine I have to say that this is the absolute best situation for Red and Red users. There is no one, repeat NO ONE, in the US who is better than AbelCine when it comes to selling, servicing, accessorizing, customizing, renting and educating about our industry's technology. No one surpasses them in customer service. Those of you who already have a relationship with Abel know this. Those who have yet to deal with them are in for a real treat and a great experience. Congratulations to all my friends and former associates there!!!

This is great news. As a production rental manager, it was always critical finding that company that was easy to deal with, carried well maintained gear at respectable rates and was still excited to support any film you threw them. Good group of folks.

Jarred I still wear my old DVXuser Tshirts that I scored from all your custom battery sales. Those suckers are still kicking a decade later.

Hard to believe it's been 15 years -- that's where I first met Jarred -- visiting AbelCine.
