  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Aaton wood grip adapted to EPIC?

The wooden handgrip exists, it's getting the proper trigger connection to the camera that's been the pain. Simple circuit, just need someone to make it. If you want a handgrip simply to hold the camera we can sell you that today. Whenever the trigger is done you could add it on with no retrofit.

AbelCine is not currently a sponsor on REDuser, so I wouldn't be comfortable posting a link. But you can go to our website and search for "red handgrip."

We can deliver the Aaton handgrip in ARRI Rosette order the original Aaton rosette, but even Aaton has moved away from that one to ARRI now. I have seen a soon to be released ARRI-to-RED rosette adapter from a third party.

OLOFF at westside AV made me a great handle for my AF 100.. No reason why the handle couldnt be modified with correct cable.. He doesnt do RED, but he may want to start.. westsideav.com

Any news? Just realized I want nothing to do with a fancy, weapon like black rig; just remembered operating an Aaton XTR rented from Abel, damn it's been too long.... the wooden handle is just too expensive to buy without the trigger, has anyone figured one out?

Aaton wooden handle

Aaton wooden handle

Guys i have My Aaton wooden handle mounted on LW 15mm rods. The 15mm rod bracket is one that Aaton made, so it has the rosette on the end of the bracket.
Its a great handle, i have the 2 pin Lemo-Lemo cable that Aaton made for the handle, i guess its a simple wire up to trigger through the BNC on my top plate.......
fingers crossed here i go.........!
cheers
Paul

Paul,

Can you show a picture of your handle mount that is not blocked by yhr handle? I still have my Aaton handle from my LTR but it uses a strange clamp onto a square rod system. Lovbe to see how you worked it out.
Be wary of wiring the trigger as it is apparently not simple and the trigger requires power?
