  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A taste...

I have a pair of Oakley sunglasses which I bought on a ski vacation, in Val d'Isère, when I was 16. Can I trade them in for a discount on Epic?

Also, can you maybe name a Scarlet accessory, doesn't matter which one, "Johansson" ?

Jim, you're going to have everyone peeing their pants by the 13th. It must be fun to make one post and yield untold speculation, chaos and heart stopping drama. You're enjoying this, aren't you? :)

I think Mark is on it...removable input/output plate...removable controls on the back is a pretty good guess.

Now, I sure do hope RED is putting as much (or at least some!) effort into the post workflows. There is still SO, SO much work on RED Cine, Alert & Rushes that can be done before I call it a true pro workflow...

Yes, there is def a modular theme going on taken from the initial jumping off point i believe RED/JJ took with that image of the 1st Scarlet with DSMC DSLR style grip on it. it was all down hill form there and created a monster or Monstro! :)

Mr. Jannard knows how to keep interests piqued, I will say that. I've only used a Red One once but the camera offers so much for its price point. I very excited to see both Scarlet's and the Epic's unveiling, but this slow trickle of information is masterfully done promotion. Marketing departments can only hope to generate the kind of product anticipation that the Red team has.

hmm the first one to see the new render... and yet i don't know what's significant about it other than that it's probably the back of Scarlet or EPIC

chubby :)

Thats EPIC :)
Pic just clipped away the word on the red logo. But that is definitely the lemo derive connector on epic.

And who says that the Scarlet won't have LEMO connector for drives? :usd:

Btw, the other screen we saw, with the HD-SDI ports, I think we were pretty sure that was Epic, and one of the ports was LEMO aswell, so either we have a Scarlet pic here, or Epic has two LEMO ports.

Look closer ;-)

To me it looks like the first letter of the missing word has a "bevel" on the top left corner. "E" doesn't have one in that font, "S" does.

Edit: stupid me - the word is "cinema", of course. I'll get my coat.

TO me it looks like the letter C. As in Red Digital Cinema. It'd be weird if they just changed the logo for scarlet/epic. The overall smoother feeling reminds me of what the DSMC could look like, and it'd be illogical if it was EPIC, because the other shot that already had LEMO ports and it looked a whole lot more like EPIC(with the rod and everything). This could be the Scarlet or the DSMC that both could also have LEMO ports.

This is my first post on the forums, as I am eagerly awaiting 13'th of nov to know where my next years salary will be going.
