  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

oh no i didn't take it to mean vaporware or anything false. i was addressing others speculations hundreds of answers above :)

believe me at this point you could prob sell just renders hahahaha especially if it was before the 13th.
 
hmmm... could you put someone's eyeball next to it so we can blow it up (digital-imagingly speaking) and perhaps get a reflective view?

1 million hits in a day. Hmm..... that is a lot of hits, going to have be something very big. Here is my guess:

1. Red One - discontinued. The cameras already in existence can be upgraded with the new sensor or owners can trade up for an Epic, plus change. Or trade down for a scarlet and... I don't know, don't have that worked out.

2. Scarlet. 4k full 35mm sensor, interchangeable lens mount, modular, price stays the same, but there will be additional modules. One will be a processing module that will enable you to go all the way up to 100 mb/s. There will be a still module.

3. Epic - 6k - same as above. Uncompressed module or at least a 250 mb/s module.

There are the only things in my opinion that would warrant 1 million hits in a day. If the announcement is scarlet is still 2/3 but has interchangeable mount, etc. That is not really a big deal. A 1 million hit a day big deal I should say.

At least for me.... your individual results may vary.

And I am not being a debbie downer, just speculating like everyone else.

My guess:

Scarlet and the DSMC are now one and the same (at least the base model): at least 2k video resolution and 10mp still image, interchangeable lenses that feature autofocus and it will retail for $1999 base model.
 
If only Jim can show some of the prototype footage with audio! I wonder what would Scarlet/DSMC, and Epics footage will look like!!!:angry02:
