Red is the black monolith from 2001, but with better design.

it's not yet 2010, but anyhow:

Heywood Floyd: What? What's going to happen?
Dave Bowman: Something wonderful.
Heywood Floyd: What?
Dave Bowman: I understand how you feel. You see, it's all very clear to me now. The whole thing. It's wonderful.

Hahaha thats awsome. Did someone modify an image or draw the whole bloody thing up?

Hi Zakaree,

HVX seems like a very old camera now, I would not want to pay more than $1000 for one today. Far better cameras are available today for $6000.

Stephen

BTW the DigiBeta with a 4.8mm wide zoom was far cheaper to rent than the HVX. The director wanted to edit using final cut and firewire.

Stephen, have you had any luck finding a used Red for $12,000 or less yet?

And just so everyone knows, I respect Stephen. Just giving him a hard time. I think Red needs to make money so this train can keep on rolling. That means profit margins have to stay decent. I'd like to see Scarlet hit the sub $5000 mark, but not at the expense of the company not making money or having to make compromises that make me not want the camera. I'm always for getting gear cheap as long as it does the job and the company stays in business.

Haha! Excellent! (though I think making Red's package so big was a bit much) HAHAHA!!!

No, seriously that's excellent... loved it. Though maybe do away with the urban destruction... especially during the economic situation. Just my 0.02

Can I e-mail it to sales reps over at Sony? Am I allowed? Please?!?!! :bleh:

getting....very...sleepy

I can't take it anymore. Where do I buy? I don't even know what it is and I want it. All i have ever wanted is to take better pictures then anyone else. Is that to much to ask? :)

All I want is to take Panavision like images without the Panavision price!

Vegeta, what does the scanner say about the unique hits?

Vegeta, what does the scanner say about the unique hits?

I'm still amazed at the "over 1,000,000 hits prediction", considering the number of unique hits red.com already gets a day, The news will have to be so momentous that it snowballs by word of mouth / blogs (gizmodo and engadget) and news sites (digg / reddit)...

but i guess once you figure in all the international employees of Sony, Canon and Panasonic that are tuning in to see the device that is putting them out of jobs.... doh! Got the logic.

Touché, Jim.

Jim

You always outthink us and innovate things beyond our expectations. Will Scarlet outsell and Compete with Red One and Epic. What's your guess?

I am now comfortable in saying that the most aggressive speculation will not come close to what we will announce Nov. 13th. We fully expect over 1,000,000 hits on www.red.com on the 13th.

If I am wrong... look at the good side. You can finally turn off your reduser addiction.

Jim
If you make some of the product pics with low copyrights acceptable by wikipedia, then we can post them there. Some options are small pics, pics with wording agreeable to Red, watermarked, etc...
