Hello Guys and Girls,

Im currently having a debate on how the red one compare to others and my question that im pondering over is.

How do you think the red one cameras have had an impact on the film industry? eg costs and technical reasons.

thank you all for your help.

well i clearly don't have time my friend or i wouldn't have bothered leaving a question. thank your for your help though was ever so useful

I have to go with Noah here... There's over 5000 pages on this subject.

But since I'm a cool guy (ha ha) I'll answer your question:

It's had a big impact. It's cheaper and does cool stuff.

There you go!

SNAP!

Jay

Uhh well look at the number of RED made movies...there's even a cost analysis on the site for RED versus Film somewhere around...

The impact is obvious by the number of productions going RED...

Just try searching the board...there's always time...

Or be more specific with your questions...

well for film guess you really like creativity, i would had thought you guess being so clever and up to date you would have pleasure in helping a student out. As you all say there is 5000 pages but i dont have time so a short paragraph would have been helpful, but never mind

Ha- the logic of this guy makes sense. I want to have a brain dump but I can't be bothered to actually do my own research or read stuff. Perchance, please tell us why we should care if you're having a debate about this subject?

Noah

then dont bother replying if you dont want to help noah?

Hello Guys and Girls,
Translation: "Salutations Bitches,"

Im currently having a debate on how the red one compare to others and my question that im pondering over is.

Translation: "I'm doing a school report on Red and I want you to do my work for me"

How do you think the red one cameras have had an impact on the film industry? eg costs and technical reasons.

Translation: "Is Red cheaper than film? Is it easier than film? Has this made a difference to the industry?"

thank you all for your help.

Translation: "Fetch!"

What the hell is the point of this thread?

I'm not angry (it can be hard to tell on the interwebz), I'm just very, very confused.

It's called a forum drive-by.

Hey everybody- I'm brand new here! Now please summarize years of threads in five seconds- cuz I haven't got the time to waste doing reading and stuff (too busy on FB and Twitter)- or you all suck. Peace out...

Noah

Mike,

Lots' of serious people on here.. Saying you don' t have the to reasearch the question, but assumeing WE have the time to write an answer we've written before comes off in two ways:

1: You're lazy (something working film people HATE cause we know SO MANY lazy people)
2: Your inconsiderate. You won't do your own heavy lifting, but seem happy to ask us too.

Now I AM NOT DISSING YOU DUDE.. I'm simply pointing out another point of view to your post that others may read into it. I myself, just got off a shoot, and I'm tired, so I certainly don't want to have this discussion.

Just something to think about.. If you do not agree, that's cool. But as you can see from some early responses, people are reading your post as I said they would.

:yesnod:

Have a good evening.
Jay

Haha..love the translations!

Other thing is...

If your going to say etc. it doesn't exactly help if anyone passer bys wanted to give you info...cause if its not what your looking for...most are wasting their time then right?

So perhaps you should list down questions or better yet list those questions then use the search button towards the right corner of the forum and put that question inside...chances are you'll find an answer...

Google tends to help a lot in debates... that's why these days we just say "google it" (or maybe that's just me...)

Mike, I'm not going to do your research for you but I've been on this forum for a pretty long time and I can tell you that there is enough information to answer your question here.

Your question was:

"How do you think the red one cameras have had an impact on the film industry? eg costs and technical reasons."

For the first part, you could do a straight analysis of how many films are being shot this year. How many on RED and how many on traditional Film. Do the same tuple for years past and the impact (trend), will be evident.

For cost, you can start by breaking down the cost of shooting a feature on RED vs. film. Do your own research, post the results of what your research has found for cost figures and the experts will be glad to tweak the results with real world figures and maybe remind you of things that your cost analysis have left out.

Regarding technical reasons, you don't need to be an expert or do too much research to figure out what technical reasons make RED better and what technical reasons make film better. Here's hint though. The list of technical reasons that film is better is getting shorter and shorter, almost to the point that it'll be irrelevant. The choice to shoot film for most productions will be made on a bit of technical reasons and a whole lot of emotion.

A bit of advice for the future though Mike, do some of your own research and you'll be surprised at how many experts will contribute bits of useful information. On the other hand, if you post a wide-ranging blanket topic like this and expect folks to do your work for you, don't be surprised if you get lit up and flamed on the forum.

I think he got a lot more wisdom than he had bargained for. Pretty potent question.

it's part of the i want it now but too busy to be bothered because i'm on facebook all day generation. i'll admit thats a gross simplification but it comes from somewhere and his additude sure sugguests it.

i mean come on, theres so much here and it doesnt take a lot of looking to find lots of comparision and great information. like the links david posted.
