  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A Professional Cinematographer

I agree for the most part that a digital cinema camera doesn't need to always be built up, as I often prefer to have a lighter and more compact camera when I operate.

But there's no way you can pull focus as good without a follow focus/Preston and a 1st AC dedicated to this.

Exactly, you should only load on to your camera system what you need to do the job on that particular shoot.

Naked hand focusing, as I do for certain shoots, it's very different of course from Focus Pulling or Focus Racking, then no doubt I will be allowed to do a better job with a FF unit, if I have a 1st AC better :)

Cinematographers who complain that someone else isn't a professional because of their setup is among the same kind of people who favour one camera system over everything else because they are the only ones who knows what a good image is.

I'd say those who comment like that are the ones who aren't professionals. They have learned how to make movies and motion pictures on a surface level and feel a need to withhold that surface level by trying to teach others that their way is the right way. Laughable really.

I use what I need in each situation, why should I use a setup that I don't need? That's just dumb.

Guilty as charged :)

I am back in Vegas to rap up the Non-Profit and finish the Sprinter for the "Ventured to Inspire" project, so I'll still be here a little longer and shoot some more at Red Rock for sure!
