  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A few new things...

is there a place to attach the focus hook?

on the left side, there you can connect the EVF Cable, right? If so, thats cool and i am sure its old news and i missed it.

This likely will start a debate.. but the PC Sync is superior in many ways.. which is why most all camera mounted flashes still use them. Apart from them not shorting the contact every time they are inserted like a 2.5mm plug does, they also are surface mounted, which means we didn't need to make the handle 1" taller to accommodate the connector inside the camera. And they also are much easier (camera side) to clear out junk that gets into them than a 2.5mm plug.

Yes PC SYNC connectors can get bent.. but so can 2.5mm plugs.

Debate Schmate- you made a design choice and it powers a flash. Nuff said.
@darge- don't quote me but The side module makes 3 CF ports means 192GB!
That's what, up to 3 hours of recording depending on framerate
and a HUGE chunk of 5K at 100FPS?

We'll see how it goes, you're probably right. I'm just very happy to have two options on my SLR, a hotshoe (+adapter) and the PC Sync.

So if one of the other connectors on EPIC or Scarlet has a free, maybe low voltage only, connector that could be used for syncing... awesome.

By the way, the highspeed sync crowd is going to have a ball with Epics and scarlets, though. Make sure you provide a user-definable microsecond software adjustment for when the sync happens. Flash sync at 1/1000th and better should hardly be a problem for the electronic shutter?
 
Hmm...I guess the monitor port being on the side CF module means you have to buy it even if you're getting a rear CF module or SSD module? Just thought about that.

Not that I'm rich enough to get anything but the side CF module anyway.
