  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

a few glimpses of desire - studio model shoot

I've always found it fascinating why people with Canon's feel the need to post on reduser with no context of why it really matters here.

REDuser has become a big show and tell for everyone. Or in this case just show. Granted I post my 5D2 timelapse on here along with the RED footage I shoot. But I also give a little bit more in the description as to what it going on.

Mike... it is OK. Although it probably makes more sense to relate posting about another camera to something related to our program. Otherwise we should just set up canonuser.net. No aggravation at all... just a curiosity.

thanks much, Jannard. have been lurking around here for a long time and over at scarletuser.com. I will keep it in mind for future posts.

Like it or not, for better or worse, reduser.net has grown into digitalcinematography.com

Not only has RED revolutionized the camera industry, they have also revolutionized the camera forum industry.

You've got a point there.

If we can consider thsi a filmamker's forum, I will give soem comments;

- Makeup is rough around the edges. Lack subtlety, and non-adaptive to the model's particular morphology, accentuating her masculinity in a manner that lacks finesse. Fire your makeup artist.

- Even an abstract piece like this can have the feeling fo beginning/middle/end. This is boring. Learn visual storytelling.

- We see hoe the 7D is not really sharp in places that are supposed to be sharp. Shallow DOF si much dramatic on a pro cam, like RED or even EX1 with good adapter, where true sharpness can to a much greater degree pop against softer areas.

ahh stop banging on mike .. he's a good guy. And he'll be a scarlet owner when you release the damn thing. :biggrin:

@Rob, I agree, the make up could be better. as for your statement "Learn visual storytelling" a quick google search returned very little to back up those words of yours. Why not offer suggestions for change, now that would be constructive.

I have a feeling that some of the people who post stuff from Canon and other cameras are doing so because they consider themselves to be aspiring REDusers just waiting for a Scarlet more than they consider themselves permanent Canon/Sony/Panasonic users. What do you think?

Exactly... I hope this section stays open as at least it is real work that we can see and discuss. Alot of posts on the other sections are just speculation and guesswork.

I agree entirely. The only reason I'm shooting on a 7D is because Scarlet isn't out yet. I do think it's great that there are a ton of people out there learning to shoot with a 7D or similar - it'll just mean they'll be more prepared for an actual production camera like the Scarlet.

Pretty girl = relevant;)! But I can't help imagining how much better she would look in 5K. Which reminds me-- can't someone body-paint a gretag chart on a model for the next low light sensitivity tests? Honestly!
