Last month, we spent three days in India to cover the Tony Hawk Show in Mumbai.

We managed to get some free time to try to discover Mumbai, it's such a huge city that I don't know how many days you need to visit every place...

Stuff shown here were shot at the flower market, at Dhobi Ghat and at Chowpatty... I wish we had more time there, I've never seen anything like Mumbai in my entire life.

This is not a proper edit just some random shots cut all together.

Everything was shot in 5K at 96fps with the Epic and the RPZ 17-50mm.

There's a lot of vignetting on the wide angle shots as we framed using the 16:9 guide, the final project was delivered in 1080p so we cropped into the 5K FF but the stuff in this clip are shown with the original aspect ratio.

That flower market is amazing. I shot in the same place a couple of months ago. I didn't shoot with the Epic but I sure wish I did. You got some awesome shots. Did you get to stay in Mumbai for more than 3 days?

Here is a sneak peak from that film which includes a shot from the flower market.

That's beautiful Vincent. India is a magical place and this brings back many memories. I never been to Mumbai but have been to Southern India many times (a different time a different career).

Thank you for posting this.

Thanks a lot to all of you, I really appreciate your positive feedback!

Bob, this trailer is amazing and I'd really like to have the opportunity to watch the entire piece.

I didn't stay more than 3 days in Mumbai, positive aspect of my job is that I'm traveling a lot, negative one is that I almost never have the time to visit any place... jumping from one plane to another...

At first Mumbai scared me and when I came back home, I was feeling really weird... Watching your teaser makes me feel the same. Footage is beautiful and at the same time the music puts me in a strange mood. It's really playing on emotions.

After years of traveling, these three days in Mumbai made me realize that I'm only a visitor...

Why is it soft?
We didn't push contrast and levels too much, that's just a light grade with RCX pro.
On this edit which is the one I had to do for my client, you can see some of these shots with a different grade.

India is such a country of extremes, especially in Mumbai. It has become such a vertical city with souring buildings amongst many slums. But the people are amazing. It is definitely an experience you will never forget.

Here are some photos from our shoot in India:
