  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A Call Out To All The REDHEADS

That sounds like a great idea. Maybe we could have a target amount that we are trying to raise; and perhaps we could find enough cash to pay for people's flights..?

You are my new hero!!!

I will say that this will be expensive, but the opportunity to meet all these incredibly talented people and being able to show the story behind the results (and much more!!!) for all the great members of this forum will be priceless for me. I am working to make this a very quick turn around with teasers being released as fast as I can edit and render. All of this will of course be free as a small thank you to everyone here. Gibby and Ken will determine the final avenues of web distro, but if the past is any indication-- many members here will offer to mirror.

**e planet-- I hope this answers one of your earlier questions. ;-)

Next week I'll be flying from Athens (greece) to San Diego (Siggraph) and from there on to Maui (vacations) and then some VFX training (4 months long)for my upcoming movie (with RED) so at this point I can't afford much more than what I sent.
I hope every little helps

Update #1

I am not posting names of contributors since I believe the spirit is more important than the credit on this and also cuz I believe that $10 is to one what $100 is to an other in this diverse reduser community.

By close of business West Coast day 1

$250
$100
$100
$50
$20
$20

Total = $540 (minus Paypal fees)

That is over 1/4 of the way to the average bid I'm getting from vendors here in LA (see attached PDF). So if $10 paypal is what you can contribute then press the buttons. Nice work guys.

BTW - I am personally "insuring" your contributions. If your "Grandmother needs surgery" and you need a refund before I spend the money for LART then just let me know by email or PM.

Sam,

Thanks for stepping up to the plate with the original idea and first contribution. Sharky

I'm Happy to help.

I can see that with #81 (lucky bum) ......
Sharky

You know what? I was actually bummed when I got #81... I thought that # was so high. LOL.

But I still have "Gibby Envy > #8".

... the minimum target at this point is $1600 for 2 meals (lunch/dinner) drinks and snacks for 25 team members for 2 days.Sharky

That is much less expensive then I thought...

We should be able to hit that # ($1600.00) out of the ball park!

Hey how did you know about my grandma? who knew cliff diving was so
dangerous....

Looking good, maybe we'll buy you guys breakfast as well then :)

Good thing both my grandmothers are dead because I wouldn't ask for a refund either way :)

Hi guys, I'm in.

Thanks a lot for your effort from Italy.

Elcurado & Nutman, Thanks so much for your support!

And again, what's important is we all just do what we can.

Every little bit does help!

LMAO...you do know that the auditions for Last Comic Standing are over?

You guys are to funny - and they say humor is a function of intelligence:)

To quote Britney... Oups, I did it again!

I just got a refund for a Pink/Tori Amos concert that was canceled so you guys get to benefit.

Next goal, offer the LART team haute quisine meals :)

I'm away for a bit and see this thread on return. What a great way to participate! Just sent in my donation. Eat well my friends!

C'mon everyone, throw a few bucks into the pot! Every nickel helps!!!

Thanks Steve and Ken for spearheading this testing extravaganza and thanks to Sam for suggesting the food fund. Just sent some cash to the PayPal account. Sure wish I could be there, but at least I can read about the results with a clearer conscience knowing I contributed something to the cause.

Half way there!

Thanks to all the contributors of the Reduser community we are nearly half way to the goal by day 2 and the cameras start shipping in 35 days (more or less).

Total $471 + Day 1 $540 = $1,011

Our goal is $2,294.80 based on the references and quality of the mid-range bidder 24hr Production Catering (revised bid attached). Note: this revised bid is a few hundred dollars more than their original bid posted earlier because it was breakfast/lunch not lunch/dinner. Gibby and I discussed the call times and hours for LART and it is obvious that with partial night shoots and the LART 4 camera agenda that a second meal (dinner) was more important than providing breakfast.

Thanks again to everyone, this will beat the original Subway/Pizza Hut plan hands down.

Sharky

Oh my god, we can't have you guys eating Subway or Pizza Hut!
I've opened a paypal account, it takes two days to be verified (yawn) I'll send a donation tomorrow

Happy eating!
