  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A Bit of RED History

That's awesome Jarred. Nice bit of history we didn't know about you!

Yup I remember all that

A great interview indeed. Happy 10 years man. From vaporware to Weapon shipping on time and RED cameras being used all over the world for every type of project.

Didn't know you grew up in Canada, that's pretty cool. So where do I send in my resume to work at your upcoming Canadian RED location?

A really great read. Its amazing how some steps just lead to bigger and bigger things. From mountain biking to owning a bike messenger company, buying a camera, starting a website to learn how to use it, and BOOM! You're in the filmmaking business, and eventually join RED.

Nice article, man!
I didn't know if you and Jim were just business guys or tech guys with business skills. I like that you guys were doing engineering work too.

That article is the goods. You really do have the best job in the world.

good to read the history-in-a-nutshell from one of the participants.

Jarred, you should use that picture of you with the Weapon as your avatar.

Thanks for posting that, Jarred. I read it from you Facebook post earlier today. I love histories of companies. I've said before that with all the talented DPs and productions guys on here there really should be a documentary made on the history of Red.

I read the whole article.

So... Jared, since you have to be a genius to do what you do, logically, you must be a genius.

:)

I still remember meeting you for the first time at the Panasonic Booth at NAB.
