Question to anybody who knows- will the new OLPFs for the CF and MG weapons be able to handle the 8k sensor size?

Though the OLPF is out of focus it appears to be a larger and different design.

RED has always done a remarkable job of bringing the future to the mass market. Undoubtedly, they'll set a standard which will be tough to match. It has taken NHK many years to finally stuff their 8K technology into a real camera body - something which RED will do much cheaper and more efficiently. All hail, REDCODE!
RED will have its cameras in more hands faster, and that is what will create the broader market, as users generate more and more applications for their cameras.
It still blows my mind periodically that I already own a 6K camera.

No.
They are not compatible.
There is an additional pin in the Weapon OLPF used for auto recognition by the Weapon brain.

RED are (IMHO) quoting the Current Dragon vertical scan rate for the 8k VV when they published 60 fps FF and 75 fps WS.
If the VV is a new block, and new 2016 orders get the same sensor for $20k+ .. at what point would RED be able to release a replacement 8K sensor (or sensor upgrade?) that would beef this up to 120 fps ... 2017?
(I am hoping that that clarity around this piece of the puzzle makes its way to us before the end of the year)
If the pixel processing rate is the same ... I wonder what Red would be able to use extra ASIC / FPGA / CPU power for ... as I doubt (guess) the read time 0.5 stop improvement in the black would use all this up?
+) Would there be any advantage to performing optical lens corrections in real time?
+) Or perhaps a more advance focus visual-feed system that could help track objects of interest?
