  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

8K Post - The Reality

Björn shouldn't you have the nvidia titan xp instead since you're on Mac.

" with a driver release coming soon allowing any Nvidia Pascal-based video cards to be installed in compatible older PCI-e Mac Pros"

Means any of those Ti cards will do on mac, no? Or the two I got today seems to work just fine. Got the founders edition. And install ed the driver and rebooted with the new card in and it seems to do what it should have not clocked it but faster than our Quadro k6500 cards for sure.

Hi Bjorn,

I often encounter render errors on resolve on Mac on final  export.

I find switching resolve to single gpu fixes it most of the time and not much difference in speed anyways.

Yeah they released pascal drivers so you're OK. Was an issue up until about a month ago if I'm remembering correctly.

Any resolve wizzards that knows whats up with this...

We are grading in one mac running on el capitan then we export our project and move to a different machine on siera to render. The clips even as clean redwidegamutrgb looks different, not only in the views but also when rendered and also when viewd on the sane machine / screen next to each other.

simply sieraon two differen machines looks darker /greener then elcapitain machine.

We tested pretty much everything, but the difference remain.

its the same version of resolve and both machines got the same set of source files, luts etc.

Any clue?

on the link is some screen shots snd test rendees to show the differences.

Filed a case with BM but they seem to have no clue.

Switch to single GPU in resolve them restart it to see if that fixes it?

Whenever I suspect a render problem (which usually boils down to a color space difference or a Video vs. Full Data Levels problem), I render out a few seconds of test generator shots at the beginning of the file -- 5 seconds of SMPTE bars, 5 seconds of gray scale ramp -- and check them on the scope. If there's no difference in the test files on a scope, 99.99% of the time there is no problem and it's just perception.

I have seen cases where sessions pulled into a different computer had some issues due to set-up differences, but you could readily see them on the scope. It does help to use external scopes, and I'd rather trust those than the internal Resolve scopes.

Yes got external scopes on all machines. rendered testfootage and screendumps on the link above.
BM is looking into it and have not been able to give an explenation as of yet. drp file is there aswell.
