  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Could be anywhere in the world today.
Sometimes you get some jobs in that are ball busters.
Shot lists a mile long, little time to prep, and only a few days to fore fill and fit so much in... 3 cities, 2 countries and knowing that you have to keep the client happy each and every time. So they keep coming back for more.
This was one of those shoots that had me on the run from start to finish and the only way I could shoot it so quickly was with my EPIC in stripped down mode. We had know time to be lugging around fully prepped cameras.
Small saved us, RED VOLTS saved us... great crew saved us.

The post deadline was equally as tough. I had to make 9 separate films for multiple countries in a week. in 4k. !
Thank goodness for fast raw workflows, FCPX saved us because of the speed you can work within that program (once you get your head around it)
Anyways... Thought I'd share with you what you can do if you don't sleep for a week :) but more to say.... I'm glad I shoot RED.

PS: This is only a tiny bit of what we had to shoot all up for the different country versions.

That's great stuff mark!

I like the product shots the best. Having seen a lot of your work now,it did look a tad rushed, but pretty excellent none the less!

Those sweeping aerials are golden man. Amazing turn-around. Well done Mark.

Nice

Looks great! Thanks for sharing.

As always Mark, you're kind of my hero. Small camera packages, quick turnarounds, great edits. I've kind of modeled my setup after yours...Canon mounted glass (though its manual focus Contax, not Canon L), 80mm fronts, etc.

I envy where you shoot. NZ has so many breathtaking locations, presumably all pretty close to each other!!!

Congrats. Keep it going. Love to see what you're up to.

What was your glass on this? Canon L and your Super Speeds when handheld? And PL Zooms on the helicopter shots (the 24-290, for ex).

Best

Yep... your correct, it is rushed cinematography, But considering we had to shoot over 150 different shots over that time, (most not even in this particular version) I think we came out of it ok. :)
Happy client, thats the main thing.

Nicely shot, nicely edited... Except everyone is driving on the wrong side of the road, not very safe!

Thats the Australasian version.. :) We did 5 different versions to suite different world markets.

Awesome stuff Mark. My favorite shot has got to be the waves revealing the Toyota on the beach, heck of a shot!

How many shots were switched out for the different markets?
