  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

4K smartphone by Sony to be announced on July 4th? 1/1.6" sensor expected...

Alongside a four-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, the 'system dump' points to the power to take photos at a 20-megapixel resolution.

This is said to be done using a 'Super Resolution' tweak, so it's possible the phone won't actually have a 20-megapixel sensor, but will make up that resolution using some natty pixel-adding software.

The power to record video at 4,000x2,000 pixels is also reportedly on board."

Actually, they have 4K displays to come for selling... And Samsung too ; )

Since Warhol's 15 minutes is a Facebook journey of several digits of users to make vivid any shy stock market and the best "worldwide surveillance project" business ever invented able to face a financial crisis, it doesn't surprise me to see it either in 2013 or 2014 to pair with Spielberg's prediction of some industry's implosion :X

I don't know about you guys, but I'm holding out for the "Anal Probe" update for Android. I hear it has direct PRISM integration.
 
I'm in Japan on a business trip staying in Ginza so I will go to the big Sony building tomorrow and ask.
 
i thought a 4k phone was a ways off based on the prices of monitors...but what an exciting future! i like being watched lol
 
I bought the Nokia 808 pureview because it was touted to be much better than the Iphone, and yes it is better, but it is still a camera phone! Rather than 4K for a phone, I think we want a lowish resolution, but large, sensor. Where you can totally tweak everything you want with manual control.

OT:
Yeh, slipped down a flight of stairs in the last Typhoon. Also bruised my hip and got whiplash! Had to cancel 3 weeks of shoots i was DPing, so now I am down to editing, and colour correcting. Anybody with post work, feel free to pass it to this temporary-invalid's way! haha

Meh... broken ribs. ouch. I've had a few of those here and there... Jet ski crash, ice hockey, feet slipping on an icy pickup truck bumper (definitely not one of my shining moments, that last one). Anyway, hope you heal quickly, or in a relatively quick way as ribs seem to heal. And may you not need to cough, sneeze, laugh, turn abruptly, or anything else. Depending on which ribs you broke and how that hip and everything else is, you may find some relief with one of those large body pillows. My last round of broken ribs left me trying to sleep mostly sitting up until I tried that massive long pillow my wife still had from when she was pregnant.

I don't have any post work, but if you're a capable iOS programmer, I've got a shit-ton of work I can unload. ;)


Sony phone camera thing = meh. Everything is going to shoot 4K/UHD video here in the next year or two anyway. But Sony is on a 4K crazy train right now, which is a good thing, someone needs to get this party started on the consumer side of things.
