  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

4K Monitors... urgent.

The sad state of picture quality in the typical home in 2013 is a straight up insult to people who do what we do.

The intersection of art and commerce is often an accident scene and our painstakingly crafted imagery is the first victim. One need look no further than music on MP3 to see how convenience as a selling point overwhelmed any semblance of quality. With OTT coming like a freight train over compression is likely to get a lot worse before it gets better.

I suppose the upside is that the source material will be so awful, that neither the poor quality of the displays or how badly they are set up will even make much difference. Feel better now? ;-)

Yea you don't need a great display to watch Reality TV, which seems like a large percentage of the content lately... in fact I think a cardboard box with a picture painted on one side would be just as entertaining as 90% of 'reality programming'.

When there IS good content... most users have no idea how to set up their displays- and high end displays with a ton of configuration options just seem to make it worse. I visited a relative who has a nice large Sony and was wondering why the color when watching a movie looked so 'tv like', well the Display (like most) has a number of preset configurations, and she had it on one that really messed with the color/saturation of movies.
