Newbie here. I'm not sure if my issue refers to the freeze frame problem I've been reading about but here goes: I set my inpoints and my outpoints, I name the clip, I set the path and I click the red Go button. The clip downconverts a lot faster than usual, and then when I open the clip in a Quicktime window all I get is a single frame from a different clip. Each time I do this I get the freeze frame from that same clip.

I've tried trashing the Red program and reloading it, but nothing has changed. I would trash my Quicktime 7.3.1, but can I only replace it with Quicktime 7.4? If that's the case I guess I shouldn't do that right now based on what I've been reading on this site.

Thanks for any info.

I'm on a Mac and I'm having the same problem. Although occasionally I get a static-y frozen screen. I just learned from a friend that I needed to download a codec that would allow me to export to an 8 bit uncompressed file. Maybe I need to download another codec?

I've been stuck in leopard/ quick time hell for over a month now- my only solution thus far is to export to tiff or dpx and then compile the image files.

I'm unwilling to roll back to tiger, and I'm not sure it's even possible- so i'll wait until apple fixes the problem.

That sounds like the quicktime freeze frame issue that we are addressing. Are you mixing 2K and 4K on the same timeline?

Kevin

Mixing 2K and 4K on the same timeline causes this problem (or just RedCine crashing in the middle of a render).

Sometimes I can get an entire render out, sometimes it will crash when it gets to the first 2K clip in the timeline, or sometimes I'll get the freeze frame.

I'm not mixing 4k and 2k on my timeline. I'm only working with 4k. And not even mixing clips really, just trying to get RedCine to render one!

I'm having the same issue. 1 or so 4k 2:1 clips will render fine, to a variety of formats, then the rest are freeze frames. It's rather inconsistent of where it freezes.

This is with just a couple clips in the timeline/library. I've trashed the library files many times.

Both systems are having this same issue.

Help?
