That is incorrect. Green Lantern was shot on film. The 3D release was done via conversion.
Weren't all of the reshoots done on Red?

IMDB says Green Lantern was (for what that's worth). I don't think shooting in 4K, in 2K, in HD, or on film would have changed how much money it made or how the reviews went. I worked with the director for a week on Vertical Limit, and my impression is that he's pretty much a traditional film guy.
IMDB says Green Lantern was all anamorphic 35mm film (for what that's worth).
The DP is Amil Mokri, who just shot Transformers on both 35mm anamorphic film and the Arri Alexa. Actually, checking IMDB, it looks like Transformers 3 used about every digital camera available, including Red, the Sony F35, and the SI-2K.Anybody know what Superman the Man of Steel is being shot with?

We believe this should be the future standard.

So I was thinking... You love 2:1 we love 2:1, I would sure look forward the possibility of making the EPIC 645 a wider rather then square sensor size, similar to what LEAF has done in some sensors,
and LEICA with their S2, vs. Hasselblad and Mamiya...![]()

But then it would not be Imax screen ratio...
I'm reading the 645 as being targeted squarely at Imax shooters and medium format fashion, etc. photographers.
21:9 is kind of a bogus standard, but it's very close to 2.33, which is pretty much Panavision anamorphic (technically 2.40 projected). I don't think the Philips sets have been popular, and there are compromises with them in watching other kinds of material.Somebody should have a look at the Phillips 21:9 displays and what the sales and marketing results are. From a marketing point of view I would rather bet on a 21:9 aspect ratio.
... was shot with the 7-year-old Panavision Genesis! If they really HAD to shoot in 1920 x 800, you’d think they would have used something a bit more up to date, such as the F35, which, while it may not have the same resolution as RED cameras, it still produces damn fine images. ...
