First time operating a RED SCARLET-X; wanted to see how it held up shooting 3K and 2K 48fps for sports. Client was pretty happy with the finished product.

This is a short rip of shots that didn't make the final cut. Quick color correct done here for posting.

Shot with Canon L Series 24mm, Canon 400mm DO, Leica R 80-200

Ohio State vs. Michigan State college football from East Lansing, MI in late Sept. 2012.

I like the motion, but your export has the wrong PAR. To my eye it looks like you chose 1.33 rather than square. Also, a few shots need a quick gamma adjustment to correct the magenta color cast from the ND filter. For a quick edit it's looking pretty good, not a lot of grain- did you shoot at iso 320 or 800?

(great music choice BTW- has a nice Friday Night Lights feel to it)

Thanks Doug. I fixed the aspect ratio and re-posted.

Are you sure? I see no difference. It still looks off to me. Are you certain the change actually got rendered to the new file?

Or, perhaps your pixel aspect ratio was ok but you scaled non-proportionally. In fact, it looks like you took a 4:3 crop of the footage and stretched it horizontally to fit in a 16:9 aspect ratio, kind of like in the early days of ESPN "HD" broadcasts.

Whatever happened, you should be able to tell it's stretched just by looking at it on your computer monitor.

Yes its 1920x1080, but its also def stretched. Not sure what settings isn't clicked, but you should consider double checking. Very nice footage, btw.

Yea the version that is currently up is stretched. agree it looks like a 4:3 crop conformed to Widescreen. Cool shots though for sure

I will take another look. Thanks for the comments. First time doing this whole SCARLET workflow. Figuring out if it's worth it for an ole' TV head like me!
